There was also apparently 2 more attacks in the States yesterday. One in West Virginia and another in New Mexico. Nothing on a major scale with a lot of people dying or anything but like.... that doesn't dismiss that it HAPPENED, you know?

Yeah, the one in new Mexico doesn't seem to be terrorist related, but it was a nut job who took people hostage before police swooped in and got him.  The West Virginia one is still at large, after the unknown suspect shot three at a state park and fled.

Hostages held at Wamart in Amarillo:

It's a big country, lots of stuff goes on which don't get national attention because there's just too much.  Even that young singer's shooting has been overshadowed by the nightclub.

Lol, soda tax?

But oh god. Did you guys hear about that bullshit report about someone who bought a gun in "7 minutes right after the shooting". Nevermind how that doesn't prove anything, or how illegal that was and proves nothing. I'll dig up link if it's still around.

Yeah, so apparently some hyper liberal journalist either payed off the gun man, made it up, or the seller was breaking the law and didn't care.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for that one.  Hadn't heard it.

How is getting news in Peru?  Is it harder?  What do they talk about there?

Yeah it's stupid. I'm waiting on my friend for link.

No. There's tons of news channels. And politics, crimes, accidents. Sometimes stuff from outside the country.

Eh I don't watch the news much. I catch it a bit when it's on. The beating Brazil thing was repeated over and over again for the day after it happened. World news I have no idea. They did talk about Orlando though.

I know when I have been in other countries, the majority of news is still about the good old US of A.

My experience is that, everywhere, the bulk of news is domestic.

Also, the proportion of domestic news from a source is generally inversely proportional to how much I care for consuming its news...

This will be huge if Britain exits the EU.

Brexit.

Hypothetically, if Britain leaves the EU, who will follow?  Europe has always been shaky, and the fact that we have relative peace and a union has resulted in no wars between nations since WWII.  If a major player leaves the EU, especially a US ally, could this allow for a more negative EU to US interests?  What about a weaker EU, or a EU that crumbles apart and begins wars again.  The EU collapses or shows weakness, who's to say that Russia won't sweep in and take over nations or gather their bloc again?

Considering Russia's been trying to get its foot back in the door with its dear old allies recently, I wouldn't put it past them swooping in and trying to take huge blocks for themselves once more. Russia's pretty scary mang. But Putin is awesome. What a magnificent bastard he is.

But yeah, my Welsh friend is on edge about this election thing. It will determine whether he chooses to stay or move out of Wales.
