My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - Surf and/or Turf
It is the 6th episode of season 8. This is the 175th episodes overall. The episode premiers on April 21, 2018.
SYNOPSIS:
The Cutie Mark Crusaders help a young hippogriff decide whether he belongs with his hippogriff or seapony relatives.
-
For reasons, I don't have high hopes for this episode. I really hope I am wrong and I hate being a downer before the episode premiers! Here's to hoping it's really good and better then I expect!
I'm thinking we will just be re-hashed a plot that has been done to death and that one side of the family will talk like stereotypical surfers. ;D Don't ask me why, but that is what I am predicting. lol!
-
Hope it's a good episode.
-
Time for a live watch!
-
Why are the CMC being summoned? Anyone find this weird? How can they just send these kids away?
-
What about their daily lives and school?
-
New theme song again!!! I like how it looks actually.
-
Starts off right away with Carrot Top plot.
-
I don't think the CMC are old enough to be on their own. I am glad Twilight is heading there.
-
"Purely research."
-
So Equestrian trains go beyond national borders?
-
PONY PARTS.
-
That is a cool new location this Mount Aris.
-
I still have never seen the movie.
-
I like how Twilight trots down the stairs.
-
Thats weird how they transform.
-
Seaquestria?
-
So are they like allied nations that are really close to each other?
-
Thats a pretty cool village.
-
I like it when there is lore.
-
Hippogriths celebrate being themselves. Sounds very Canadian in trying to say they are different then Americans. Yes they are diff, but not that diff.
-
I am predicting Twi will forget to have them sign it.
-
LOL! Sweetie Belle loves her sound.
-
I love this environment! Its so cool.
-
This male hippo dude doesn't seem like thinking how perfect this place is.
-
So this could be an episode that tackles divorce.
-
And a coming to age episode.
-
Twilight is here on business guys. Totally.
-
Weird they are like guppies now.
-
I'm glad Scootaloo is having so much fun.
-
Sweetie Belle doesn't like it under water. Scootaloo loves it.
-
Scootaloo would live under water I bet.
-
"Some serious field twirling left to do."
-
Screeching comp? I wanna see her screech.
-
A song!?
-
I like this song.
-
All intents and PORPOISES!
-
Song got pretty angry.
-
I love their pouty angry faces.
-
Apple Bloom be the leader here. Take charge!
-
Why does he have to choose?
-
Whats this idea?
-
Is Terramar older then them and acting younger then them?
-
Pretty good episode overall. I liked the new scenery, though the episode seemed short to me. It took a long time to get to the problem, which I was fine with. I liked seeing the new world.
8/10.

The new setting pieces were nice and it was cool to see a new culture. That really boosted the episode in my opinion. It was otherwise pretty run of the mill but insert CMC instead. Good episode. 7/10.

I thought it was pretty fun and interesting to see this different group of pony things. I haven't seen the movie so it was all new to me. They seem to have an interesting culture, if not a just a little diff then equestrian. I thought it was weird that the CMC got called in. Why would they get called in? I am still confused about that.
8/10.

It wasn't a bad episode. I liked it and it kept me entertained throughout. :) 7/10
-
I dunno why I didn't watch this episode until last night. XD
Quite enjoyable episode. :D
-
Yeah, as I've said before, if you haven't watched the movie, you might be somewhat lost.
As Soda nodes, this episode touches upon the dilemmas of children of divorce and mixed or interfaith marriages. Boy, Scootaloo definitely had a bit of a meltdown there, nearly rejecting her friends over a little disagreement. I wonder if she's going to become obsessed with baths and swimming now, trying to replicate that feeling of flying?
Definitely in my top three this season, close behind the two-part premiere and the upcoming Starlight/Sunburst episode I mentioned here (https://psfforum.com/index.php?topic=188.msg159668#msg159668).
-
It was an alright episode. It was sort of just bland to me overall with a run of the mill issue.
7/10.

The episode's title makes it sound like a seafood meal which is a positive, just like this episode overall. I liked seeing the new backgrounds and locations. I feel the pacing was a bit off, but I still just enjoyed learning more around the world. I feel it cancelled out the odd pacing and real world issue they were trying to show, such as with kids having to live with divorced parents in diff areas.
8/10.
