My old computer won't turn on anymore and I forgot to pull the save data for Minecraft from it! Stupid! Now I gotta start all over again! Oh well. It's fun playing anyway. XD
Anyone else play?
-
It won't turn on anymore? That new replacement battery finally run out of juice? But if you have an account doesn't that save all your data?
I play minecraft. I got mine for free. It even updates too, which is pretty awesome! I got a sick map, it's pretty cool. Unfortunately all my resources are soooo spread out. I literally had to make bridges across vast expanses of ocean and make multiple houses.
-
It does backup online? Huh. Well I guess we'll see.
-
I have no idea. I figure it must, right?
We should all multiplayer at some point! It would be so much fun!
-
just downloaded and opened it up. Nope. I'm gonna have to start all over.
-
Really? There's nothing online on the website when you can log in and stuff?
But wow. That's sucks. Oh well, that's part of the fun right?
-
yup. time to rebuild
-
Welp have fun.
-
If you can still get the data from your old computer...
Love Minecraft.
-
You play Minecraft too, Darrin?
Do you play creative or survival?
-
If one day it decides to turn on again then yeah I'll get it but right now it isn't seeming like that's gonna happen
-
Return the battery you bought and say it doesn't work, get money back. Then buy another one use it until battery runs out to finish transferring the rest of your files.
-
You guys should share what you've built.
-
I got the PS3 edition!
-
Return the battery you bought and say it doesn't work, get money back. Then buy another one use it until battery runs out to finish transferring the rest of your files.
The Battery itself isn't the problem this time. I think its the charging port thats crapped out. So now even if I do get another battery, what good would it do if no power can get into it?
-
I got the PS3 edition!
How is the game on console?
-
I hear console versions of that game are hard to figure out
-
I have long considered buying Minecraft for a console, but I don't know if I should. The computer version I know is better, plus I can mod it.
-
Well, if you get a new battery, it should come charged. That way it gives it enough juice for you to finish transferring leftover files. Then just repackage it and return it, get money back.
My sister has the Xbox version. It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to start a new game and why it wasn't working (I had it set to online when I shouldn't have because we didn't buy the online function for her). After that I was too frustrated to even play so I left it and just went to go play on my laptop.

Our ongoing Minecraft Server's homepage (http://ajmstudiosnet.wix.com/ajmminecraftserver). Currently down for some maintenance, but ongoing. lol. Our server also has a wiki (http://ajmminecraftserver.wikia.com/wiki/2nd_World) we are building. 1st world (http://ajmminecraftserver.wikia.com/wiki/1st_World) was our first server, then we moved to the bigger and better 2nd world (http://ajmminecraftserver.wikia.com/wiki/2nd_World). Our server is full of governments, countries, history, and tons of other stuff like that for us nerds.
Some pics of various places in our world below.

And here is a video on one of the country's national anthems. The Nation of Aurum is the most prosperous and most powerful nation on our server.

Whoa! Dude this is crazy amazing! Like dude, wow. All these creations are huge and amazing!
-
You got armies and navies! Oh may gaaaaasssh! Dang, look at all those crazy details on EVERYTHING. :D From the cities and towns I have looked at too, they are super impressive. So many of them.
-
There really isn't a whole lot difference in the PS3 version or the PS4 version I would imagine would be from the PC edition. When they announced awhile back that the fighting mechanics would be different, I figure the PS3 update would be no different and I'd get the same thing. (I haven't played it in a long time since I'm back into pro-wrestling games again lol)

You guys should share what you've built.
These are some of the more recent maps I've built.

Those cities are very amazing. Wow! Looks like you have a ton of them.
-
0_0...I feel incompetent XD I've only played Minecraft for a few days and I kept on building stuff that looks...blocky XD
I really like seeing others stuff though
-
Eh, the point of the game is to do whatever you want! So if you make blocky stuff who cares! That's the fun of it :D
-
By the way, MS, isn't the word "blocky" part of what describes Minecraft? ;)
-
I remember how proud I was surviving that first night in Minecraft. The "newness" of it all and trying to find food, wood, wool to make a bed. I remember when I finally got sheers to pluck wool from sheep, I was thinking I was king.
When I converted my dirt hut into a wood hut, I was so happy. Hiding in my house, hearing the hisses and moans outside made me think I was so lucky to be inside. Watching as the moon went down and the sun went up.
The first few Creeper explosions around my home bugged me so much, I patched them with dirt.
Fishing. When I finally got to fish, I though I had endless supplies of food until I made my first garden with a fence... OH fences. I fenced off areas around my house and kept the monster outside of them. I got my armor and livestock, and made my house a home. I felt truly accomplished. No game has ever made me have a sense of pride and property quite like Minecraft. I would place it as one of my favorite games of all time that moved me.
When I finally played multiplayer for the first time, and had friends, mind was blown. :) Such an amazing game. Games that provide feelings like that only come maybe once or twice in a lifetime. I would love to go back and play the game as if it were my first time again. Start fresh and have the same excitement as I built up.
-
I have minecraft... but only the free cracked version, hard to find servers for that
-
Oh I use mineshafter. It's free and works amazingly. It even allows free updates.
-

I know those feels well. The game gave you purpose and accomplishment when you did a task for the betterment of your survival.
-
I've been playing Minecraft again! I just started a new map yesterday to get those feelings that APD spoke of earlier. I so love this game.
-
I was playing my modded survival. I had 29 diamonds, found the end portal, and was going to enter it soon. I had put all my items into a modded chest that could fit the amount of items I had. The next day, I was going to add to my command block world without mods on, and joined the survival world by mistake. Now all my items are gone, and I can't get them back because I didn't backup the save.
-
Well shit that sucks....
Learn from your mistakes?
On a similar note, I cannot open Minecraft, and now, the best world I ever had is probably gone.
-
That really stinks for both of you.
For LP, I would advise getting a real version of the game. Like purchasing it, if you like it enough. :)
-
It's 30 bucks though D:
Ain't nobody got that kind of cash for a computer game
-
Time to start a MINECRAFT-MAKE-ME-MONEY event! The M4!!
-
What are some of the best things you all have made?
-
My monster grinder.
-
Any pics? :) Did you like push em' in... and they got crushed?
-
No it's a tall building in the sky. It's dangerous to make as you're like over 80 blocks high to make it. And water is involved so if you fall down the chute you could drown. But yeah. Made it. And monsters are pushed by the water down the chute and they fall to their deaths. And I have little warp things and transport them to a chest to store all the goodies they drop.

I had a friend build something very similar to this.
-
In what is now known as "1st World (http://ajmminecraftserver.wikia.com/wiki/1st_World)," I had a friend build a tower that seems similar in nature, Leapingriver.
It was called, Jonville Tower (http://ajmminecraftserver.wikia.com/wiki/Jonville_Tower) (pictures linked). It was an early hub for westward expansion, but as our server grew, we started following more realistic design trends in planning and development. 1st World grew massive, but then we moved to what we called, 2nd World (http://ajmminecraftserver.wikia.com/wiki/2nd_World), and it was even bigger.
-
This is very impressive.
-
Seconded. That's pretty hardcore. :3
-
Who here still plays Minecraft? I do pick it up from time to time to check on my world, say hi to my puppy and pet chicken, Mr. Cluckers. :)
-
From time to time. :) Made such an impact on me. Wish I could go back in time and play it for the first time. Those feelings were amazing.
-
what do people think about the changes Microsoft are making on the game? Are the more frequent updates good, bad? I hear you have to pay real money for skins and to join servers now, which would be really really dissapointing to me...
-
^ I would hope that isn't true! I'm not sure though.
-
So I did research. You can still download any Minecraft skins you want and upload them for free at any skin resource, such as the ones linked below.
http://www.minecraftskins.com
http://www.minecraftskins.net
You can still play on any server for free. If your friends know how to set up a server, you can still do it all for free.
Nothing has changed except new content.
-
Nothing I have noticed has changed on Minecraft. Same game, new features, updated launcher. No asking for money.
I've felt the updates have been less frequent.
-
No extra charges I am aware of. I played as recent as last week.
-
Oh, that's nice to hear ^^ so in general things have been good? I hope Microsoft has managed to maintain the high quality of the game that everyone fell in love with x3
-
Oh, that's nice to hear ^^ so in general things have been good? I hope Microsoft has managed to maintain the high quality of the game that everyone fell in love with x3
Yes. Mojang still does all the work. Microsoft covers advertising and will probably dictate when they need updates. For the most part, Mojang still is autonomous. But I am sure the mass marketing of Minecraft is all Microsoft's doing and all the spin-off games by Telltale.
-
Ok, cool ^^ it probably works better that way anyways. x3 has anyone played the story mode telltale games? I've heard that the story is interesting, but I have never gotten a chance to play them myself.
-
I've never played the story mode games, but I've heard they are good. They aren't anything like Minecraft though.
-
I played Minecraft again the other day.... it was so refreshing. It was like playing it for the first time. I loved it.

Saw this poster and wanted to share it with the Minecraft community here.

UPDATE AQUATIC HAS BEEN RELEASED!!!!
-
It is wonderful. The best significant and meaningful change to Minecraft in years! It opens up a whole new world.
-
Can't wait to try the update, Downloading it now. :D
-
All the upcoming updates to 1.14 and 1.15!!! Tons of stuff coming at the end of the year and the start of 2019 including complete overhauls of biomes and villages! New villages, new villagers, foxes, pandas, so much more!
-
This excites me a lot! :D I love the Aquatic update. I am glad they are fixing and improving pre-existing things now that everyone had wanted improved.
-
I'm excited for their silly little updates too.
-
These new plans for the game are really exciting to me. :)
-
Minecraft 1.14 final release could be released by this coming Tuesday! It is the expansive Village and Pillage update completely changing aspects of the game and setting the framework for so many more changes.
-
Looking forward to it. I am enjoying the raids and more importantly the villagers actually doing stuff and being useful!
-
This game still makes me happy after all these years. It's like Lego's.... but on a computer. :D
-
Downloading update now!! :D :D
-
Lol! I'm loading up the game now for fun!
-
I’ve been considering finally getting this game.
I just have this theory that Minecraft is going to be a mandatory skill in the future. How else will I relate to the new generation?
-
I'm surprised to see someone who hasn't played the game before. :) You won't be able to understand the lingo and jokes (memes) people do 90% of the time without playing Minecraft. And like you said, it is pretty much a mandatory skill to have for work now. ;)
-
I haven't played in a longo time. But I'm thinking of downloading it again
-
It's a pretty big update and it changes a ton. Everything you once new is still there, but there are alternatives to make things easier to remember.
-
If anyone has a server, I'd be happy to bounce around and hit some tree's with them. :)
I am enjoying the new update a lot!
-
I did just download the game again to my new computer. So I would love to try and play with friends again. Last time I did that was.........sheez years ago.
-
A lot has changed, Blurr. :D Might want to read up on the Minecraft Wikia a bit if you are lost. :D
Also... sneezing pandas!
-
So Minecraft is ten years old.
I am old.
-
We're all old now.
-
They updated a free anniversary map that is pretty incredible.
-
I watched some vids on it. It looks pretty cool! I will download it myself.
-
Happy ten years of tree hitting.
-
Decade!
-
It's amazing how fast time has gone in this game. I had left for a bit, but I still always come back to it as a comfort.
-
Microsoft has unveiled, MINECRAFT DUNGEONS at E3 2019. And I gotta say... it looks promising!
The trailer showed a lengthy look at gameplay from an overhead perspective, along with very Minecraft styled menu screens to equip items and chow down on a turkey leg. The trailer concluded with the announcement of a Spring 2020 release window. It will feature 4-player local and online co-op.

Edited (wrong topic)
-
The Dungeons looks fun. :D
-
This should come as no surprise, but it is now confirmed that the "Super Duper Graphics Pack" as been cancelled. It has been two years since it was announced.
Source (https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/08/12/minecraft-super-duper-graphics-pack-canceled)
-
Saw that coming.
-
Minecraft updates! Nether biomes! This really excites me.
-
And on top of that, Minecraft is adding a new item that is on par or slightly better than Diamond.
Netherite. It is extremely rare.
-
New Piglin mob can be bartered with in new Snapshot! Nether is going to be a whole new world for us!!!
-
I love how old this game is, but it's so fresh all the time! They keep drawing buzz and keeping people excited. What game that is this old still seems new and has constant updates changing the very framework of the game with care? None!
-
That's what makes it unique. It has as big a fanbase today as it did years ago, and it is resurrging.
-
And yet even more news.
-
I'm looking forward to these nether updates. I usually avoided that place, but now i will have more reason to go and set up a base.
-
New blocks and new stuff in new snapshot.
-
The target block will be nice for shooting arrows at.
-
New snapshot. 20w10a.
-
Yet even more snapshot updates!
-
I'm liking the continued support and updates to this game. It's been refreshing playing it again for the past year or so.
-
And today there was ANOTHER Snapshot. They are quick. This latest has something about a way to respawn in the nether.
-
Some wonderful new additions such as a way to set your compass to actually work! Plus the creepy new mob called the Strider.
This Nether update is really making this game so much better.
-
Mojang may be secretly changing underground caves on purpose... or not on purpose. This fast talking Minecrafter may have discovered something that no one else has really brought up. Between snapshots, caves have changed in this newest switch from 1.14 to 1.16.
-
Mojang did some weird April Fools stuff.
I'm going to search Sneeze and I will take some pics.
-
So I tested it all out. First I generated a normal Minecraft world using the world seed, "sneeze." It took me to an all jungle biome which reminded me of a sea of snot for some reason, the way the vines dripped down from the sea of green tree canopies.
I plunked down a portal and grabbed an "infinity book" from the "infinity library." I wanted to see what would happen first so I used the default book and threw it through the portal and walked through.
I was taken to a world land with a sky of orange and clouds of sailing ships. The ground below was far below and foreign, so I stayed within the ship I was transported too. I think pulled out a book and quill and wrote my first realm to go to. I typed "Sneeze." I threw the book into the portal and walked through. Then the weirdest thing happened that never happened to me before.
My Minecraft game crashed. Seriously. First time that's ever happened in playing this game since the Alpha days.
So I reloaded and tried again. I made a book that was called, "Sneeze." The portal turned blue.
I walked through and....
The world sneeze was a hellish landscape of blue fire and redstone blocks with turtle eggs strewn about. It was a strange world indeed. The blue fire made massive lakes and waterfalls and the the dry land of reddish blocks seemed to all be spherical.
I decided to write a new book and throw it into more portal. This time I wrote "Girl Sneeze." The portal changed into 6 different rainbow-ish colors and I jumped through.
The world of "Girl Sneeze" was a weird one at that. Fairly normal and flowery world above, but the lower sediments were pink... and I realized we were floating in an endless abyss of soupy blue atmosphere! Worried I might fall, I carefully walked around my floating island realizing that underneath the landscapes were mine shafts. It was a strange world.
I ran back to my portal and wrote a new book, "sneezing." I entered the newly formed portal.
The world made me think I was in someone's nose! It was kind of a gross yellow with a yellow hue in the sky. The land was filled with Enderman. I think the ground was yellow wool and the higher it went, there was blue and more yellow. There appeared to be a high ceiling as if I were in a cave. But not wanting to get hurt by the Enderman I typed one more location. "PSF." Short for our lovely forum community, "Personal Sneeze Forum." I jumped in.
I appeared in a weird green void and realized particles were falling from a ceiling that appeared to be stone or concrete. The land below was devoid of fauna and seemed martian like. It was an unknown landscape, but I had appeared near the roof line of a giant cave and could not jump down.
It was a weird experience I will continue to play with. A very fun Minecraft April Fools joke!
-
the normal sneeze landscape looks like a virus infecting the body. Fitting if you think about it. XD
-
That is fascinating. I wonder if I did the same things, if the seeds would appear the same? I mean... they should. ;D Very cool man.
-
Nice mini essay, APD. :D That is weird. I didn't know the game worked like that.
-
Yet another snapshot.
-
Good stuff up there, APD. :D
-
Another update, a new biome, and more!
-
New Nether structures and music.
-
Wow!!! That is HUGE! Oh my gosh. I can't believe they've made the Nether so different and those bastions are actually amazingly detailed and cool. Like underground cities that will actually have Piglins in them! That alone is the coolest thing about this update.
-
It's Wednesday. Another MC snapshot!
-
I stopped playing this game for some time, but mid-last year I started playing it again and it really has pleased me with it's charm and continued updates. I still play regularly a few times a week.
-
This is huge... It will change the game. World customization, dimensions, etc.
-
So they were testing the waters with that April Fools joke. Interesting. :D
-
Mojang also changed their name and logo... Mojang Studios.
-
Wow, dimensions? That's pretty wild. I was thinking when that update for April Fools came out it might be kinda neat... but it would totally change the game forever if that did become official. It would ruin the main game to some degree, which worries me.
-
That is some wild news. Wow.
-
New Minecraft Nether update is OUT.
-
New snapshot!
-
Combat updates too Minecraft. Going to be polarizing.
-
-
Minecraft Live with new mob and big game update news on October 3rd.
-
I am interested. :D
-
Oh very nice!
-
These updates are going to be big! MINECRAFT CAVES & CLIFFS UPDATE. 1.17!!
-
This might be some of the biggest changes to date! Wow.
-
Jeez, I haven't even had the time to fully explore the Nether update personally. I can't believe how much free content is getting released in updates, especially considering the proliferation of DLC these days.
-
To think I bought this game like.... a decade ago... and we all are still getting all this stuff for free. :D It's quite phenomenal.
-
It's been amazing how much we've gotten and how long they've supported this game. You'd think eventually they would want to make more money with something else. I guess that is why they have spinoff games.
-
-
I miss getting into a Skype or discord call and playing this with people
-
I used to get on with a group of friends on Teamspeak. Good ole' days.
-
I enjoy it, but I don't have enough friends to play. The ones that I do have are inconsistent. Not online enough to justify paying to play online via realms or a rental server. Now I just get online to mess around with mods and experiment in creative mode.
-
When I am so tired or can't think of anything else to do, I admittedly play my single player world I started way back in the olden days. I keep upgrading to the new updates, which worries me, but my world has never broken yet. :D Lol
-

It's a very good game to play when you're spent or bored; very relaxing and immersive. I always start new worlds though because I get bored after I've built up my base and stockpiled endless resources. I find it excited to get back to basics.
-
You play in survival or creative, or both?
-
@Silverwing Survival only. Tricks my brain into thinking I'm accomplishing something. :P
-
Survival online with friends, but on my own I do creative because I like to build massive cities and things.... big THINGS.
-
More and more snapshots!
-
Big snapshot that will change the entire game AGAIN!
-
World generations change again. It's going to be a big change for Minecraft when this is all done.
-
I'm excited! What they are doing with the caves is great.
-
-
This is changing so much in these past few snapshots. Wow.
-
I am overjoyed about the deeper digging. The ability to build up higher will be great for some I am sure too.
-
Some hints at the new Minecraft mountains...
-
This game is gonna be incredible.
-
This update is going to be as big as the changing the fighting system in the game. This is gonna be huge.
-
Minecraft 1.17 will be split in two. Half coming in summer 2021 and the other half coming winter 2021. Full details in the video below.
-
Probably a smart move in the long run.
-
Part 1 of the new 1.17 update will be released June 8, 2021.
Source (https://www.pcgamesn.com/minecraft/caves-and-cliffs-part-1-launch-date)
-
:)
-
Give me those new blocks!!!
-
This is all good news. :D Next week.
-
So yeah, the new part 1 of the update is quite good and adds a lot of good things. But the real changes come in part 2.
-
I recently updated my world to 1.17 and I was shocked to find no errors. It all just worked beautifully.
-
I recently updated my world to 1.17 and I was shocked to find no errors. It all just worked beautifully.
Most of the changes will be Underground and percentages of ores.
-
So they are currently doing "Experimental" builds to the game and totally reworking how biomes form and where they are located... as well as adding many new biomes.
-
New MOB VOTE is out. Make sure you vote.
One of these will make it into the game.
-
I like the blue ghost thing. :D It's cute.
-
Minecraft Live 2021 is going on with the next update... or part two of the current one, being called "The Wild Update."
Mud blocks and mangroves! Frogs and tadpoles! Chests in boats! The deep dark! The warden! The warden? The warden!
-
I wish they would add mist and fog, especially to these new swamp biomes they are showcasing.
-
I wish they would add mist and fog, especially to these new swamp biomes they are showcasing.
That would be cool! I want fog and mist too.
-
Minecraft 1.18 is now out!!! :D
-
Lush caves please!!! Can't wait to try it. Updating now.
-
Minecraft Movie news... and it isn't too good of news. It might just be an adaption of Minecraft Story Mode by Telltale Games...
-
We keep getting closer to the full next release. :) The Warden does seem truly terrifying.
-
The Wild Update will be released June 7th according to Mojang.
-
Well it's about stinking time. j/k
-
Little trailer for the upcoming June 7th release.
-
When the trailers are so much cooler than the game itself.
I do love the game though. Not saying it's bad. lol.
-
So it's a decent enough update. Doesn't feel like a whole lot has changed unless you find a lost city, which I haven't.
-
New action-strategy game called, "Minecraft Legends." Interesting. Not my thing exactly, but curious to see where it will go. The trailer dropped on Minecraft's official YT channel on Sunday of all days.
-
The gameplay so far looks way too much of a downgrade compared to the trailer. Their trailers always have so much life.

They got till 2023 to make it look better. ;D
I know some people say Minecraft Dungeons is a good game. Never played it before, but it looks better than the gameplay shown here.

I heard good things about it, but never bought it. Not my style of game. I do like regular Minecraft though a lot.

I have really enjoyed this past big update. The Deep Dark is a pretty creepy place.
-
Time is coming to vote for a new Minecraft Mob. Each day they are teasing us with a new mob to choose. Here are the first two so far. The one called the Sniffer sneezes in this video. A sneezing mob just like the panda? Insta-vote? lol Voting starts October 15, 2022. 12 Noon EDT.
Sniffer
Rascal

Tuff Golem.

And a break down of the new mobs to vote for.
-
Big changes coming.
-
I'm ready for those signs and bookshelves.
-
Hey the Sniffer won! I figured it would. Like the one time the Minecraft mob vote actually was what people expected won!
-
Will we actually get the new update NAMED this year? They still haven't named it and right now it's a hodgepodge of failed ideas.
-
Archaeology is back.
-
So far this update doesn't interest me in the slightest. Like the armor color stuff doesn't interest me at all. Archaeology will be something I'd never do.
-
Mojang is revealing the name of their next update release this Thursday.
-
^ One more day.

She's going to scramble her brains. She could be using magic to use that axe! lol
-
Well, holding hammers this way is canon ;D.
-
So far this update for the new "Trails and Tales" update seems aimless and pointless. Nothing interests me so far and it seems like they have no idea what to do with it. I don't know how they can have such aimless topics for an update. I can think of so many things to do to improve the game or add to it, but then they do dumb things like add a pointless mob or jars...
-
Some news...
-
-
Most irrelevant update I can think of. Mojang is squandering so many opportunities.
-
[excited] Does anyone know of a way to convert a Java world to Bedrock so one can play with a friend online? I tried Chunker, but it said the file was too big. The world data is 1.4GB total.
-
Big update stuff.
-
Seems like another update where they have no clue what they are focusing on.
-
More news. Been playing recently and I love the new cherry blossom biomes. They are so atmospheric.

New mob?
