Everyone keeps talking about this game Undertale?  Is it the latest game fad that will passover quicker then Five Nights, or is it something more?  What is it?

It's a charming self-contained 2D RPG with a focus on characters / storytelling / An Aesop.  It'll be remembered as a cult classic.

I expect it will follow a roughly similar cultural curve to Portal, only with a much smaller player base and no ridiculously quotable quotes.

I'd recommend it.

Whaaaaat? Are you kidding me?
No way! This game is.... It's something more. It's deep. (Underground aaaaaah). No but seriously, it has a great story, great memorable characters and is just so excellently made.

FNAF was a nice game that had a lot of hidden lore, and jumpscares. Undertale has an actual story, in a sense. And it's fun, really nice gameplay and all that.

When it comes to games, I BECOME A SNOB.    Not really.

FNAF wasn't even good in my opinion.  It had no depth, the depth that came was only after the first game.  Then they tried to cash in and made about five games in one years time.  That isn't a good game to me.  It would be at the bottom of many lists.

I will try Undertale when I have time.  I just don't want it to be something that everyone jumps on, then forgets about just as quickly.

Well, FNAF is an alright game. And a lot of the lore was actually in the first game. It was just expanded on in the following games. And he wasn't really doing it for the money, per say. He did have an overall story from the start, but he didn't know how successful the game would be. And he wouldn't rush to finish in one year, he just loved working on the game so much he'd end up finishing before he said he would.

And no, Undertale is a great game. It will probably stay in the gaming hall of fame or something.

I went through Undertale on the true pacifist run and just stopped. I never had the heart to go through the genocide run but I have been thinking about it.

It has been over a year and I have finally completed the next chapter in the story involving Typhoon and my other elemental OC's. It's in editing now and will hopefully be ready to be put up in fimfiction by the time I get home from work tonight.
