TEXAS SENATE RACE UPDATE.  72% in.

This is an extremely close and intense race.  Republican's fought really hard against some hard chagrinning Democrats trying to turn Texas blue.

Cruz (R) - 50%

O'Rourke (D) - 49%

The Kansas 3rd was just called for Democrats in the Kansas City suburbs.

The Republican, Andy Barr, won in Kentucky’s 6th Congressional District, a race that our model categorized as a toss-up.

So what would it mean if the Democrats take the house but the Republicans keep the Senate?

There are lots of things the Senate can do regardless of how the House turns out, namely confirm judges and other nominees. Even if the House flips control, as long as Mitch McConnell is in charge, Republicans still have the ability to shape the judiciary. A Democratic House would have investigative powers but no real ability to unilaterally implement policy.

REPUBLICANS MADE Massive gains in the Senate, which as discussed previously, is more powerful then the House.  Democrats will take the House, but not by much.  It won't be this massive blue wave the media has been falsely portraying.  A lot of big name Democrats that the party and Hollywood supported... well... they all lost.  Every single Democrat that Oprah and Obama campaigned for has lost so far tonight.

Democrats have so far picked up 15 House seats.  There are currently 144 House seats for the Dems and 151 House seats for the Republicans.

This is not counting California, Washington, and Oregon.  Still awaiting results from the west which just closed voting about twenty minutes ago.

The big turning point by far was the Republicans winning Indiana, Scott and DeSantis winning Florida, Hawley winning Missouri, and Cruz holding on to Texas.  We still need to watch Arizona.
