Oh, I dunno.
Cyndi Lauper, I was surprised to learn, sang the theme to
Pee-Wee's Playhouse-- which has one awesome Christmas special, too, bee-tee-dubs. I guess it depends a lot on if these groups were already big then or achieved their success some years later on.
So besides the TV shows, the tradition
I like most is the annual Christmas parade.

The ones they have in the town I've moved to, sadly, aren't quite as big or festive as the ones I grew up with
back home--to start with, they're held at ten a.m. on Saturday rather than Friday at night. Boo. Secondly, no horses. It simply isn't the same without horses.

The real fun part of watching these majestic beasts go by is seeing at which point on the route one of them drops a deuce... then, seeing, A. if it's still lying there on Main Street come Sunday morning, and trying to guess how long it's going to remain there , B. how long it takes before a car hits it and leaves a tire-track down the center, and C. how long before it dries up and turns white.

For the record, a good-sized horse turd takes about two and a half weeks to fully turn to dust and blow away on the breeze.
