YESSSSSSSS!!!!! I am so excited! :D  This is probably one of the most exciting ETS2 bits of news since... Beyond The Baltic Sea!  Russia will give us something totally new and different, plus stricter border crossings.  It will be a bit odd not using a main corridor through Belarus into Russia, but I can understand.  There is also no street view in Belarus and much of the Balkan states, so it's hard to make an accurate map.

I cannot believe the amount of complaining from the ETS2 community in the posts under the blog.  How disgusting. :P  So many ungrateful people who will never be happy.  They are complaining that the Balkans aren't being done or how Ukraine or Belarus aren't in it.  Come on guys... things take time.  They can't do it all at once.  Geez...

I was reading through the forum and comments and yes, there are a ton of ETS2 loyalists and newbies complaining.  I don't get why.

This beta test lasts more than a month, so the release can happen at any day.

P.S. So, I think it’s time to add dashcams to the game officially. And the distinctive-looking Platon pay device will be good too.

I have this strange urge to play 18 Wheels of Steel.... I am just remembering the intro, the theme song, that truck spinning in place.  Being able to choose any place in the country to drive in, even if all the cities look pretty much the same, lol. The police actually chased you then!

Also, you could drive a cabover without any mods, and you didn’t have the ability to disable the fatigue simulation — this part made a game really harder: with a slow truck (still no snow in ATS in 2021 ;D) you just didn’t have extra time for sleeping.

Also, some screenshots from Porto are here too:
So, no Andorra here ;D. But, unlike Scandinavia or Road to Black Sea areas, Spain and Portugal are covered competely, and I see a lot of small settlements here — I hope at least Santander and Port de Sagunt (obviously ;D) will have available ferries.

APRIL.  We have a vague date!!!! The map looks exciting.  Compared to the rest of the ETS2 map, there is some pretty empty space surrounding Madrid. I know it will have scenery towns, but that is some big space for ETS2.  Especially from Zaragoza to Madrid, down to the small coastal cities like Paro.

I am happy to see more small towns labeled.  I wish they could do that with the older maps.  Maybe an option to label "scenery" towns on the map would be nice.

The map is weird in that it completely avoids connecting to Andorra and instead seems to go around it?  (I know that isn't hard to do, lol)

This map also has a ton of locations.  It seems like it may be among the most.

Here comes Mr. Complainer Man.  Me.

I will say Porto looks good in many photos but it seems so lifeless still.  The models used to show off it's beauty in the distance are still pretty low quality, which is unfortunate.

I complain as any good European would because .... well just because. ;D

The skybox does look lovely though.  I will say that the clouds look beautiful.

They seem high quality for the most part.  Sure very far away they are 2-D textures.  I wish they could hide how the world just "ends" better.  But overall it looks nice.  I will agree, the world looks lifeless though.  Hopefully they will add boats to the river through Porto and add some pedestrians.  Not sure why SCS has stopped adding pedestrians in cities.
