Fast Food Favs
[/size]Just a fun topic about fast food. Not saying you should eat it everyday, but certainly we've all been to at least one.... or ten of these places. Simply check a vote next to one you enjoy, then we can discuss below between your favs and not favs, specials, and deals! FOOD!!! There's gonna be a ton on this list. If I don't have one on this list you like, let us know. I tried to keep this list to international, national, and major regional chains. Not small local chains, though feel free to bring them up too.
-
Fun idea. Okay, so let me start by saying this. Everyone loves to bash McDonald's.... but I don't see why? Their food isn't any unhealthier then others... as a matter of fact they have healthier options then others! They are also cheap! Did you know that McDonald's is the cleanest restaurant out there too? YEAH! I'm supporting McDonald's here.
I also like many others. I don't eat out much, but sometimes you just have too.
Anyone do fries and milkshakes for that sweet and salty combo?
-
McDonald's Fries!!! The best shit ever!
Oh and probably Popeye's fries come very close. So very close.
-
McDonald's does make the best fries. I also like their chicken burger for a $1. ;)
-
I love Dairy Queen blizzards. :D ;) Silk chocolate or strawberry cheesecake, or maybe Reese's. Yum!!
McDonald's has amazing fries and I like their simple cheese burger. Their coffee ain't bad for any size at just a dollar. :) Starbucks = broke.
I like Wendy's burgers and chicken burgers. Their side salad is tasty with the cheese too. :) Frosties!!!
Guilty pleasure... Taco Bell. Yeah, yeah, I know people like hat in' that place, but I like it. That's all that matters! BEEF!!!
Mall equals stop at Auntie Anne's for a pretzel. :3 Nom nom nom!
Krispy Kreme's original donuts when fresh and free are amazing.
What can I say, Subway drew me in when they had $5 dollar foot longs. Now they have like.... 2 things for $5 dollars. Sort of drove me away.
Panda Express! Faux Chinese!
-
Can't believe I'm the first person to give Popeyes a vote. It's so terrible for you but so good! That blackened ranch is amazing!
-
I've never been to Popeyes. I should try it.
-
I'll post more when I get back home to my laptop but for now I have to say that Rally's fries are tied for my favorite right behind McDonald's. Rally's are far and few between though
-
Taco Time for the win!!!
-
I was forced to read "Fast Food Nation" when I was going into my senior year of high school (summer 2014), and while it didn't scar me for life, I CAN say that there are certain places that I don't think I'll ever eat at just because I know the dark art of how things are made there. Taco Bell is one of those places. :X Fries are basically all I can eat at most fast food places anyway because of gluten issues.
Fries and a milkshake are my go-to whenever I go to McDonald's, though I used to do chicken nuggets and chicken selects when I could eat them. I haven't tried their salads OR their burgers, but I've heard one too many rumors about both to think about giving one a try.
Wendy's is the bomb because of their baked potatoes! Couple that with a Frosty (and maybe even some fries, because those are amazing too), and you've got me sold.
Chick-fil-A is something I just had for the first time this year, and it was a really good experience. They have those grilled nuggets which are awesome, and their waffle fries are crispy and delicious.
I haven't been to Sonic in years, but I got it allllll the time when I was in middle school instead of McDonald's, because their French fries are done in a dedicated gluten free fryer, while McDonald's still has the possibility of cross-contamination. Their milkshakes and onion rings are also amazing. Unfortunately the closest one to me is like, a half-hour away, but we were supposed to get one around here sometime soon.
-
Chik Fil A is really awesome. They finally opened one near enough to me to try. Them chicken burgers, fried or grilled, are MASSIVE. It is an actual slab of chicken meat you can see. Not some thin patty with breading.
-
I've tried Chick Fil A at the insistence of my friend.
The chicken was... alright? I really disliked that sweat taste it leaves in your mouth. The fries were good though!
-
Oooh hoo hoo hooooooo! I loved Chik fil A. Their shakes are amazing. The seasonal peach one is really good.
Another thing I want to try is what Paws just mentioned, Wendy's baked potato. I've just never done it.
-
Fries+Shake is rad af. I have to say that Popeye's fries are delicious.
Although I don't have Jack-in-the-Box often, I remember their curly fries being like.... the best thing ever.
However....
Whataburger is the way to go.
It Donald trumps them all.
-
Chik-Fil-A has that chicken finger platter with the honey mustard sauce. Pretty damned good for parties and stuff.
-
What, no KFC? My mom had some grilled chicken there for lunch (it's not on the menu, but you can special-order it), which took forever to get to our table, and she said it was a bit greasy. I'm like, "Well, the word "fried' is right in the name." They are one of the few places to not carry a heart-smart menu or healthy alternatives. Me, I gored through three pieces of extra-crispy, a huge pile of fried chicken gizzards, breaded okra balls, a mountain of mashed potatoes, a serving of corn, and two desserts.
Now if you want chicken but are in a hurry, there's Hollywood Market (fomerly Yellow Bird). Hard Hat also carries pretty good strips and taters.
For Mexican fast food Taco Bell is fine, but for a real sit-down dinner try Las Brisas or El Acapulco. I recommend the stuffed burrito or the yolandas, with that creamy white cheese sauce.
My family has dubbed Grecian Steak House "Greasy" Steak house for a reason. Barely passable meatloaf, the meat is like chawing on a hank of old shoe leather, and everything on the menu has more grease on it than a cathouse full of of Greek sailors.
You know you're in the South when the Chinese place serves breaded okra and fried green tomatoes next to the lo mein and fried rice. There's two local buffets I like. Now, one's in a pretty lousy neighborhood, but I say the coconut shrimp's worth getting your ass whupped for. Plus, I don't know who General Tso was, but I gotta say, he made a damn fine dish of chicken.
Burger Broil has long waits and their onion rings are just dried minced onion flakes stuck together with batter. I don't even know if they're still in business-- haven't eaten there since high-school.
And for dessert, I gotta give props to Jeri-Lynn's Doughnuts. They've moved across the street to bigger digs in the old bowling alley since my day, but I hear they still serve a wonderful cherry Bismarck and a mean lemon kettle.
-
Oh wow, yeah, this list forgot Kentucky Fried Chicken! Way to go, APD. ;)
Thanks for giving shout outs to all those local joints too, Nostradamus! They thank you!
-
I like the fresh ingredients and fresh salsa and sauce from Taco Time. It costs more, but it is actual ingredients you can see.

Taco Time is pretty bomb. I wish it wasn't more money, but it is good quality. I am actually looking at beef or chicken or beans. Not . . . not seasoned beef sludge (which I also like).
-
Oh yes, the wonderful symbolic acoustics of butt pumping bean munchers is wonderful.
I'm going to have some Taco Time today.
-
Kinda random to mention this, but i figured I'd say this here because >Fast Food
I ate Five Guys today for the first time. 10/10 would eat again.
-
Y'know, uttering the the name of that restaurant could probably give a gal a bad reputation.
Besides the sumptuous food, our local Chinese buffet also offers some interesting graffiti in the men's room. Some guy drew a crude penis on the wall. Another person then wrote, "If that is what your dick looks like, then you need serious medical help" and proceeded to draw a much more detailed penis next to it, anatomically correct down to the last hair, for everyone's elucidation. So I guess dining out can also be educational....
-
Oh jeez. Sounds like we have some interesting restaurants. I've never eaten at Five Guys. But if that sounds like an unfortunate name, Seattle and Spokane have two separate landmark burger joints called, "Dick's." They are national famous for their burgers.
-
"Dick's"?
Would it happen to be "Dick's Last Resort" I think the name was?
There's one in San Antonio, my uncle played some music there once, was real fun. Besides that, I don't remember much because I was a bit young, but from what I hear/remember, the employees are very purposely rude (in a playful-ish way.).
I also do remember liking the food.

So the joke is... people loving shoving their Dick's in their mouths?

PFFFFFFF!!! XDDD

That's right up there with those old Carl's Jr. ads with hot chicks eating huge sloppy burgers and looking for all the world like they were in a porno flick. The estimable Paris Hilton performed in one particularly memorable spot, where you don't even see the burger--she just washes a car in next to nothing for a full minute.

Not to be outdone, Jack-In-The-Box came out with their own sandwich, and ad to promote it, presumably in a bid to appeal to the female demographic.

It's ... uh... not quite as as sexy. The guy looks like he just noshed on a big steaming cow patty. :-[

I went there maybe... five years ago now, when my family took a trip to Baltimore. I was just put on a gluten-free diet at the time and unfortunately they didn't have much in the way of accommodation, so my experience was less than stellar. The food I got wasn't horrible, it was just okay.
-
You said what some were thinking, Rainberry.
-
I have never been to one of these.
I have been to ten. (minus ten)
MWAHAHA.
-
i voted on pretty much everything from my childhood and then some xD but you missed one important one that's been with me forever. @.@

I like sandwich/sub shops. :D
-
Oh, yes, Subway does up a lovely chicken teriyaki sandwich.
Although since that whole Jared Fogel fiasco, they've really been given a black eye. I heard he's off his diet and really turning into a fat tub of dook while in prison.

He's been a fat tub of dook ever since he started with his sick and illegal activity.
-
Togo's is the best. :D
-
So a few days ago, I had these Taco Bell Grillerz. I think that is what they are called. I had one of the grillers with potato and a steak flatbread sandwich. Both were a $1.49. I must say, they were very very tasty.

You can double the steak for 50 cents where I am. It is ridiculous! Like... seriously, it is overflowing with steak. It's very tasty.

I had to share this picture that is unrelevant to everything. I just love how happy and joyful looking this bearded man is.

He's lovin' it. ;)
-
He just looks so happy. I would love to meet him. :D
-
He has his priorities. He looks so pleased.
-
What is any restaurant that can be found nationally that has a good lunch deal?
-
I saw an ad that advertised something for $6.99 at Red Robin. I don't remember what it was.

Some cheese lovers special. But I do love cheese.
-
Unless you can't eat cheese or dairy, who doesn't like cheese?
