Though those pics of her hugging Harvey Weinstein might be tough to explain away. Then again, the Clintons were pretty chummy with him too. It's amazing how easy it is to sweep things that happened a mere two decades under the rug. I think a lot of us who were around then enjoyed our share of little romps in what was a much more permissive sexual climate in 1996, '97 . Are our memories really that short? Have social mores changed that much in twenty years? What was the real game-changer? 9-11? The election and rise of Obama? Or just our perspectives naturally shifting from getting older, settling down, some of us having kids that we don't want doing the kinds of things we did in school at that age?
You pose a question that I don't think has a single answer. I think two major changes in American culture were 9/11 and the liberalization of America under the Obama administration. Though, that liberalization may be in peril possibly with the Trump Administration. As we saw in the election, quite conservative America woke up and voted. The smaller college aged liberal America is loud, but didn't beat it... though being that millennial are overwhelming liberal and the next generation with far more people then Baby Boomers, in the long run, we may see a Europe United States.
Morals change and shift. Quoting roughly from a Biblical line, you need a rock solid foundation. You are only going to be as strong as your leader. So it really depends on what our administration promotes and how they project ourselves to the world. Liberal will me less foundational morality. Conservative will mean more traditional morality. (Generalizing) 9/11 was a wake up period. A new "birth" if you will of America. Obama was this new America exploring it's world and trying new things. Some could argue Trump is more of that "exploring new things" phase but with some traditional values thrown in, as well as some kick ass attitude and strength that is projected to the world.
So... what am I trying to say? You read it and figure it out.
