Well, that woman, who probably could easily have a boyfriend if she so choose, is feeling what so many people feel now days.  They don't want to be told what to do or held down, and have someone/something that won't judge them or realize their weaknesses and insecurities.  She can probably find joy with that thing, but never leave her comfort zone.  It is a growing thing in the world.  Japan is having an issue with people not dating anymore or getting in relationships and just doing their own thing.  They are worried about the future.

But she was arrested... So it was illegally done. It's not like people are allowed to do it lol.

It has whatever value you let it have. If you start basing value off what other people are doing that's just kinda dumb. Does it mean a lot to you and doing it is special? Then yeah, it's special to you.

And honestly, marriage has kind of been on the decline. Divorce rates going up. People haven't been respecting marriage for a long time. Marrying robots isn't going to make it worse or whatever.

Japanese people aren't marrying and having kids because they are literally working themselves to death and not leaving room for doing things. They're just working and working. No time for relationships and love and dating. And it's sad. Because I think as of this years census, Japan's population has actually shrunk.

But it raises the question as to the value or human life vs. robots.  You already have people raising the value of pets of people....

People spend more money on their pets than on themselves. But I'm not complaining. Better business for me. And there's not really a problem with viewing ther lives as valuable as humans. They are sometimes worth more honestly, to some people. Animals don't judge, they live unconditionally. They're better.

And hey, if a Robot can have feelings, can think for itself, and so basically what a human can, then what about it is different than a human? That it doesn't have flesh?

Sounds like a society I personally wouldn't want to be a part of.  What is right is wrong and what is wrong is right.  Value, morales, our code of humanity or whatever, it would be all over the place.  Nothing would be right,  Nothing would be wrong.  Sounds like a mess.

*rolls eyes* I think you're all being really over dramatic. What's "wrong" exactly morally about marrying a robot. Sure it's stupid and weird, if it doesn't think for itself and what not, but morally. Nothing really.

And what's morally wrong about loving your pet as much maybe not more than you would another human? Let people choose what they want to love and what they value more. If they detriment because of it, their loss.

If someone marrying a brick "ruins" marriage for you, maybe it didn't mean that much to begin with. It's the same thing I say about shows or movies or sequels. If anything those things should make you cherish yours more.

Depending on your values, it could morally be wrong.  But I won't go into that.  Too many viewpoints.

This isn't stupid... but it is scary how artificial intelligence can be.  Watch the video attached as this robot tries to fly a drone.  Amazing that the robot can hold a conversation with the human so well.

It's not earth shattering news.  I wanted to discuss it a bit if it interested anyone, and a robot did crash a drone. ;D  But it is weird to think it can think for itself and remember the past like this robot did.  It's just kind of creepy.

World news doesn't have to be earth shattering news. We've shared smaller news stories there before. If anything this is kinda "earth shattering" because it's so amazing.
