I like it when they cut corners like that. ;)  But I also think not every place should be so considerate to the truck driver, because in the real world it isn't.  I welcome the challenges.

I didn't upload any pics thinking SCS would have a blog post today and my pics being ignored.  Looks like I should have posted them.  I will wait again until after they post a blog post.

Don’t worry, there surely will be a stream (and a post) about electric Renault tomorrow.
It was already announced in their Xwitter.

Watch SCS surprise us with a complete charging network, lol!

Still, with electric trucks in their infancy, at the moment they seem to only be good for city deliveries or light regional use.  Electric pickups, in a similar vein, take a huge cut in their abilities and have very low mileage reach when under duress.  I am sure semi trucks are the same right now. But over time, it will certainly improve.

Not even an open beta — it’s experimental beta of 16+ GB size (more than three previous updates together ). Check out what a big part of California has been updated — goodbye Oakdale, hooray to San Jose and Modesto!
As you can see, the map area is a little bigger in a new interface, which was finally transferred to the flat button style — so, now the interface icons don’t match to the game logo ;D.
As for the trucks, no changes for the new Kenworth T680 yet, but some new tuning options for International LT — the new grille looks better for me than older ones. Also, if you think the LT’s chassis for the daycab are a little too long, the new update finally has a shortened version (but not for 4×2 yet).
I am still going to wait until the full version will be released and look at the new roads and scenery when the new graphic settings will be tested and completed. Although, the reviewers say than the dirt particles under the rain and the dust puffs ==>:) in the dry conditions look good even now.

P.S. The «driving» part of the today’s stream was too short, but it was enough to learn that the Renault E-Tech is so experimental so for the first time it will be available for Quick Jobs only. The flat interface of the ETS version caught on the stream says this truck will also be introduced in 1.50.

WOW.  The map changes are immense.  I don't think people realize HOW MUCH of California has been changed and added too.  It's huge and the straight freeways of the past have been changed for a more winding course!  This is awesome.

No Renault electric news beyond it being a quick job truck only.  Very strange.

It seems this whole 1.50 is experimental. ;D  Exciting times for our TS games!

Honestly, the middle-California map has become a stamp on my retina — I see this shape even with my eyes closed ;D. I’m glad this part of the map is going to change.

Same.  I could almost drive it with my eyes closed. ;D  I knew each exit and which landmarks I would see even before I got there.  It was engrained in my memory just like driving to my work each day and knowing the landmarks on the way there, lol!

If you look at the map closely, they have changed SO much.  It is essentially all new, completely different.  This is going to make going back to CA essential now.

I tried the ETS2 in mid-2016, so I had only two years of driving on very outdated map of Germany ;D. I can just imagine the feelings of people who was playing since 2012, with all these wavy highways and narrow interchanges.

People who last played those games back in the 'old days' will not recognize them today. ;D

That map has me so excited to try out.  Also curious about the new electric truck for sure.

They really packed this map to capacity.  You can tell.  I am really impressed.

Not to mention we got Switzerland rework coming up anytime now too.

In older version of the map, a half of cities were difficult to find without the name tags ;D.
Also, notice how the freeways are drawn with thinner lines now — the difference between old and new part of I-5 near Bakersfield is very noticeable.

They also included TAA in this update.  That's exciting!  Only took them 12 years, lol.

Plus the new rendering process in lighting and smoke, dirt, etc.  The new UI is also more flat.

Completely overlooked, we also get the new International LT refreshed design and a new interior for both the LT and Lonestar.
