She can go play with a non-school league.  I did that with soccer.

As well, if she does end up on the guys team, what will they do about locker rooms?  Do all schools have girls and guys locker rooms?  She'd live like a champ having her own locker room, own showers, own 14 bathroom stalls.  She could poo in a diff stall for two weeks every day!

Exactly my point. the dad on the news was all "she has te spirit to play, and that's what matters. she wants to play basketball, and the school is just crushing her spirit, and that's not right!" Like, man, if she wants to play that bad, find some intramural basketball team. A YMCA basketball team. Stop making a stink about nothing.

Lol, I can tell ya from when I was in swimming, the girls bathrooms would occasionally be used by non athletes. But yeah, most of the team the two teams are the only ones using it.

Schools don't have unlimited money, and it sounds like they even tried to make a team, but the kids didn't want one.  Sorry girl and her family, but the school tried.  Now you can try and play on a community team.  Things don't always go your way.  Suing certainly isn't going to help... oh wait, that was your goal, to make money off this.  It really isn't about the girl is it?  Sue the school, they lose even more money which could go on helping set up a team.

I got to go into the girls locker room once in high school.  It was with the coach and some school staff.  They were showing off the new installations to us for some reason, lol!

Actually they're not suing the school. They're suing the Diocese of Newark. But yeah, there was not enough interest in the girls team so one wasn't formed. Tough luck. Go find somewhere else to play soccer. I'm sorry if I sound old fashioned and not progressive, but a girl just doesn't belong on an all boy team against an all boy team.

Haha, well isn't that something APD.

I like how APD mentions something not remotely tied into this. ;)

Thanks for the correction too.

It was tied in by locker rooms.

Yeah, lets say I wanted to be a LaCrosse player... or extreme Shuffleboard player.  If my school didn't have the sport, I couldn't blame them for that, especially if there was no interest in the amazingly young sport of shuffleboard.

Haha. Shuffleboarding. I mean, yeah, you can't blame the school. You can't force the school to do something because it didn't work for you. If you want something that much, then go find it someplace else.

If she marries a robot, what is stopping our society from marrying anything they want?  It would ruin the sanctity of marriage.  The institution would crumble.  What would stop people from marrying a traffic cone or their own children?

Yeah, but.... robots are a real thing coming.  The media's fringe has been talking about the sex trade a lot and how people will just have a robot instead of a human.  Talk about loss of jobs.... kidding on that last part.

Well . . . her marriage to a robot wouldn't be recognized.  She won't get tax benefits.

I thin you're getting carried away APD. There's a difference between state marriage and church marriage. State marriage really has no sanctity. It's a piece of paper saying your married. And we have laws against marrying your children or anyone underage.

One shouldn't use slippery slope fallacy. It's iffy sometimes to use.

Didn't stop that Mom from marrying her daughter....

I guess what I am saying is... where do we stop with marriage?  Do we define it and let it have value? Or do we allow it to grow and have no meaning?  If marriage breaks down, family breaks down.
