I suppose... but remember (if you're old enough, that is) that 30 years ago, that's what the said about the Berlin Wall... now,
some of Germany's older citizens kind of miss the way things were. I mean, what if, tomorrow, the powers that be were to sit down, sign a paper, and, with that bold stroke, ended over 70 years of aggression? North and South Korea magically unify, and then-- dot, dot, dot. Can China and South Korea's economies withstand the influx of people newly freed from the yoke of communist oppression and the demands they will make on resources, like jobs, food, and living space? Frankly, people who haven't known much in their lives are very likely to lose their damn minds when confronted with all the new freedoms an open market offers, and act with all the grace of a rural farm boy (or girl) who's led a sheltered upbringing for 18 years and has now just made their way to spring break in some hedonistic, booze- and casual sex-fueled party spot. In short, not pretty.
