Steam is still growing very fast.
Steam released its 2022 in review report, revealing last year's autumn sale saw 1.4 million users make a Steam purchase for the first time. Last month, the number of concurrent players on Steam crossed 32 million, out of which over 10 million were in-game at that time. This was the most amount of people who logged on to Steam since its launch almost two decades ago. In any case, it appears 2022 has been another promising year for Valve's platform.
Valve notes that 1.4 million accounts made purchases for the first time on the store, a 27% jump from last year's autumn sale. About 138 users made a purchase every minute every day for a week. Interestingly, the trend appeared to be similar across the year as Steam recorded 83,000 first-time purchasers per day on average in 2022.
Lastly, Steam's list of top new releases for each month included 85 titles that came from studios that launched a game on Steam for the first time.
