Okay, this is just kind of a fun question.
If PSF had an election for PRESIDENT, who would you vote to be President of PSF? You can give reasons, and people nominated can share what they would do as president. (Darrin and I can not be voted for).

Uhhh... Wow. Actually, this is kinda cool.
So a year back I would have chosen, MASTERXTREME. I would probably still. He seems to represent the strength and backbone of this place to me, even if he doesn't do the art he used too. He has shown what he can do, and he started this all for the met part, cemented his place. He has nothing more to prove. He is the veteran looking back on his kingdom, and every once in awhile does some new content to show he can advance his kingdom and always improve upon it.

We would need someone who looks forward with a clear vision of the future, someone with the best interests for PSF at hand. I would have to choose MasterXtreme, because we know what they are capable of. They have been there, done that, and they are a proven, solid, leader. We saw it in the past with their work, and seen it recently, that whenever they want to post anything, they take top honors.

This is a good question to ponder.
Someone who has good terms with everyone is nearly everyone here. You got APD, RainySunshine, LP, the list goes on, but I think you need someone with experience and strength too. Someone that people will listen too. That makes MasterXtreme very compelling and I am having a hard time thinking of someone else.
My next choice is going to have to be Grapefoot. Good writer, good person, and I feel people respect his opinion. He reaches across the aisle, and not only promotes writers, but does his bit promoting artists. He gets artists to draw for his stories/or the artists want to write for his work, and he promotes the artist more then himself when he posts his work. He's a pretty selfless person, who doesn't ask for anything. I think Grapefoot has been around long enough to earn a title of Presidency.

I kid, but hey I've been nominated lol.
Um... Idk. I see a lot of people saying MasterX and it's great what he's done for the community, but he's kinda taken a backseat nowadays. He did make the journal to keep us all informed, but he was probably the only one who could do it as most people on PSF followed him and knew about him. Don't get me wrong 3P and Rainy were also super popular, but MasterX probably has a stronger following hence why he was the only one able to do that.

It would have to be someone who is that is unbiased. Someone who calls out unfair treatment of someone even if the person hasn't done the right thing a lot. You know, someone who is fair and stuff.

LP has done a lot for the MLPS and the community, but I don't know. When you have a leader, you want someone who holds themselves to a certain level. LP does do this, but at the same time, there is a lot of chatter, swearing, and a lot of funny baggage that could be used against her in a campaign. Lol! Look how serious I am making this. I love the chats she has with Blurr and others, but I guess in this particular case, we could deem that as unprofessional.... HA HA HA, What am I doing with my life? :)
Grapefoot is more of an unknown, but he does have some near adult material in his writings that could cause a stink. No swearing, and pretty conservative in his actions. I haven't seen him partake in any unprofessional behavior. ;) Lol! I can't believe I am dissecting this.

I've noticed that, Grapefoot doesn't swear. I can imagine him saying something like "good gracious!" If he sees something crazy. But Wolf, he has the tendency to blow up around cute stuff. What do you say about that!?!? Hmmmmm?? Not very considerate of the cleaning staff haha

In all seriousness though, this is an interesting question. Doesn't really mean a whole heck of a lot XD, but honestly I could see Masterex, LP, APD, blurr, or Grapefoot being the "president". Darrin and Smiles would be like their personal advisors and Kyrl would be like the gizmo scientist person behind the scenes helping the president out ;)

A lot of people don't swear actually. I've never seen APD, Silverwing, MasterXtreme, Mysterserpent( you), SMILES AND I, and others do not swear.

as for VP.. hmm.. I'm thinkin Grapefoot. Him and MX would make an unstoppable team I bet. They've pretty much been here since the beginning, if not the early stages of the forum. Evevryone, even the new comer's like me know they're reliable. They obviously weren't the only ones contributing though, LP, Blurr, APD, Rainberry, Soda.. soo many members have been for a long time, and built the community up so much. If we had to pick someone to really take charge, who would you trust the most to do that?

I agree with Wolfwood on some of his points. I am also not wishy washy, I tell you if an idea is good or bad. No bias to be seen. Doesn't matter, friend or foe, I tell you straight up. I am also a very firm believer in following and enforcing the rules of PSF. I love things to be organized and in their place. I have been in charge of organizing the MLPS for nearly 2 years, or at least a year and half. And while I've experienced technical difficulties the past few months, the preservation of PSF and its values have always been my #1 priority. I will do anything to ensure PSF stays great and continues to improve.

My colleague, LP has wonderful qualifications and she is a strong leader herself, and yes, you are right. I did call myself out as being a jerk, but I am a caring jerk. Tough love. It's how you have to get some things done. If I was wimpy, and soft, and all loving, people would walk all over me. Take advantage of me every chance they get. So, sometimes it takes someone who is strong, and not so easy going, to get things done.

You see, as I can read my audience very well, I observe that I'm in a community of exceedingly nice people. Very nice people. And I realize my somewhat harsh opinions and outspokenness and "straight talk" can be seen negatively. So I find it better to preface myself by telling people I'm worse than what I am to lessen the blow in a way. To where they come to expect somewhat "harsher" words. But as I stated earlier, and like my colleague Wolfwood said, I give it to you straight. No wishy washy, beating around the bush. If you're bad, you're bad. You got a horrible idea, I'll tell you it's a horrible idea. And why do I do this? Because at my core I care. I may express this differently, but I feel letting people know they're not the best thing ever is better in the long run then letting them believe they're good and they hurt themselves.

So this question is to you both, as you have similar answers to the previous question. This would be a follow up.
Ms. River, this is for you first this time. You say that if you have a "horrible idea" that you tell them it is a horrible idea. What is your thoughts on opinions? What if someone has an idea you deem as horrible, and they like their idea? Even further, what if their idea is a good idea, but because you tell them it is a horrible idea, they don't pursue that idea?

Alright, ladies first this time around I suppose.
I think everyone has a right to an opinion, after all free country and all that. Usually if someone states their idea confidently it means they think it's a good idea. However, by putting it out there they are signing a sort of Internet agreement that they are going to get both positive and negative responses. Their job is to filter out the simple "hate" comments that dot provide backup or reasons for their opinion, and the ones that even if they are harsh have valid points in ther reasoning. And if their idea is a good idea I wouldn't be saying its a bad idea. But see, here's where it can get complicated. Say someone says an idea that they think is good, and a majority of people also think it's good. Often they'll use this as proof that they're right. But say, in an extreme example, a majority of people agreed and thought Hitler was right (during his time). But just because he had a lot of people agreeing with him doesn't mean in the end, he was right.
I often look at something subjectively and objectively before giving my opinion on it being bad or not. Or a "horrible idea". If I find that "bad" is the answer to both, then it's a bad idea. And it's a good thing they didn't pursue it. I wouldn't tell someone a good idea is bad.

If someone is passionate about thing, and it is a bad idea, I will work with them as much as I can to help them achieve their goal, but make them further understand that there are better options and ideas on the table. No script writer writes a story once and makes it 100% go to production. It takes many hours, several revisions, alternative ideas, and a lot of hard work to make something right. I like to think I provide constructive criticism where needed, and if the person inquires about further advice or help, I am happy to help them.
No human being is perfect. No one has all the right answers, and you are right, we all have different opinions. Maybe I like chocolate and they like caramel. I realize that, and I make sure to make that clear to them. Doesn't mean I won't provide my input, because you sure as hell know I will, but at least they will be aware of the differing opinions, and options they have.
There is also only so much help you can provide someone. Sometimes it is a lost cause if they choose not to accept your advice. You have to close up shop and sadly move on. This might mean they will fail miserably, but at least you did what you could. They made the final choice in the end. The ultimate goal is that there will be sharing of ideas to help construct the best possible outcome in the end. It takes all types of people to make us our very best.

My strongest trait is the strength you guys give me to move forward. Without all of you, I wouldn't have the same drive I do today.
Strength, one of my personal favorite traits, is even stronger because of you.
My trait of listening is there because I want to listen to all of you. We can all learn things togethers, be stronger from it.
It all comes together nicely with the simple answer of my drive to succeed and be the best I can for all of you. Without the people, there wouldn't be a PSF. I wouldn't be here. There would be no need for any of this. It is YOU, the people, that give me the drive to be the best I can and succeed for the betterment of PSF and our wonderful community. Thank you.

Same way any smart person would keep thing organized. You have to set up boundaries to follow, and abide by those boundaries. Stay on task, stay focused, and work in a timely manner. Organization is key to good leadership.

Ms. River, if a threat came upon the citizens of PSF, such as a spammer, how would you take action?

Spammers are easy to deal with. If someone is disturbing the peace of PSF, making an excessive amount of rude comments, or being a shark (asking for requests without offering any other comment or contribution) then I feel a ban would be well earned on their part. Depending on the nature of their actions, their ban would reflect that. If they're just a bot, permabanning would be the most appropriate action. Sharks shouldn't be tolerated or entertained, if their actions and requests continue despite repeated warnings and temp-bans, then they earned themselves a perma-ban. Rude commenters who's only objective is to stir up trouble and aggravate the community are tricky. The nature of the comments and severity should determine the punishment. If their comment is incredibly rude and disrespectful a warning should be issued and if they give sass, dole out a ban. Repeat offenders get no warning and are banned, perma-banned if the comment is exceedingly offensive.
I feel like these are fair ways to go about things.

Hmm, not sure how I feel about voting for any of these candidates who want to be President. They seem power-hungry enough to be untrustworthy!
Instead, I would like to declare my non-candidacy! Don't vote for me because I will not lead you! I don't want to represent you, and I will fix none of your problems should I be elected! A vote for Zracken is a vote for nobody because I will refuse to take office!
Unless this is all a clever reverse psychology trick. Perhaps by convincing you that only those who don't want the office are to be trusted, I have fooled you all into trusting me, and now I will receive all of the votes as the only declared non-candidate not running!! Hahahaha!!!
Or just don't vote for me. :P Instead, I will ask those who are running a question: what is the first thing, if anything, you would change about PSF if you were elected? @megacycle @Wolfwood

Not my intention, I just want people to feel comfortable sneezing in public, again. People can still be polite about it and cover their nose and mouth when they sneeze.
