The ideas that creators used to come up with were so simple back in the day.  Free flowing.  I kinda miss that.

I'm with you there. But nowadays, people just want a shock factor, something to blow them out of their seats. It's kinda sad that people are no longer satisfied by anything except the craziest, most outlandish events and scenarios... :P

I'm not satisfied with that.  All these Marvel and Star Wars movies... all absolutely meaningless to me.  They have become too outlandish and pretty much the actors are just CGI rigs with their faces computer-generated in.  There is no acting.  There are no real sets.  It's pretty much just watching a CGI film.  Honestly, most of the content from the big budget studios are pretty awful now days.

Yeah, movies have aimed for the lowest common denominator for awhile now.  Low effort and just aiming for top dollar.  No emotion in them anymore.

Earthworm Jim.  Anyone remember him?

I loved that show back in the day.  Great cast; lots of star power.  Definitely a lot of Jay Ward-style humor and a distinct Monty Python influence, esp. the John Cleese-ish narrator heard in each episode.   Swell baddies, but Professor Monkey-For-A-Head was probably my favorite. "If I twist the monkey's tail,  I can make pumpernickel."

I remember this show.  Wasn't it on WB Kids or like... the FOX Box?  I didn't really watch it, but I remember seeing tv spots for it. I was watching shows like Doug, voiced by Billy West.  [excited]

That was Kids WB, before the big change to The CW about... a decade ago, or so?  I watched it on a Los Angeles station early on, and then switched to the big affiliate out of Chicago, which ran its Saturday morning programming on Sundays--very odd. This was 1995, 96, thereabouts. I was in college then; you must've been much younger [a la Karl Childers], just a little 'bitty berry, not much bigger 'n a squirrel, mm-hmmm.  [normal voice]   That reference was actually current then, though I didn't see the movie itself 'til four, five years later.

I never understood why the WB switched to the CW name.  I don't even know what CW stands for.

It's short for the owners' names,  CBS and Warner Brothers, following an acquisition/merger of two networks.  More here.
