Which leads me to what is "Nintendo Direct" and what is "State of Play?"

From what little I can find online, Nintendo Direct is some online gaming thing.  Couldn't find anything on "State of Play."

Did some digging, it was actually hard for find anything about it.

PlayStation announces new State of Play, will showcase new games

Sept. 20 (UPI) -- PlayStation has announced plans to live stream a new installment of its State of Play series that will showcase new video games on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

The presentation will be live streamed across YouTube, Twitch, Twitter and Facebook and last around 20 minutes.

PlayStation stated on their official blog that this State of Play will include new PlayStation 4 game announcements, content from PlayStation's Worldwide Studios and other updates.

It will not cover the company's plans for a next-generation console, often referred to as PlayStation 5.

Sony first began live streaming State of Play presentations in March after the company decided not to hold a PlayStation press conference at E3 2019.

Article

Doesn't seem like a whole it going to happen.  Hopefully something cool happens for people who will follow it.

Sadly no.  Lol. I mean I know everyone's tastes are different.... but there really isn't anything right now.  It's a dry spell before Christmas season releases.

Yeah there isn't much.  Most of what I am looking for is coming on the computer now instead of consoles.

The Outer Worlds might be worth a look if you like that kind of game.  Made my Obsidian who made all the classic Bethesda games we know.

SONY'S PLAYSTATION 4 MOVES TO SECOND BEST SELLING CONSOLE

Sony’s latest published sales figures for the console reveal it shifted another 2.8 million units over the July-September quarter, moving it onto 102.8m total sales. That’s enough for it to overtake Nintendo’s Wii on 101.6m and its own great-grandfather, the original PlayStation, which sold 102.6m consoles across its lifetime.

Back in the summer, the PS4 became the fastest console to sell 100 million units.

Sony has already announced that its successor will be here at the end of the next calendar year and, though there’s still at least 12 months until that happens, a lot of players will be keeping their money trousered to save up for what’s likely to be a pretty expensive 2020. The PS5’s backwards compatibility and cross-generational play make it an easier decision too.

It’s unlikely then that the PS4 will, despite its record-setting ability to fly off the shelves, take the top spot in the charts. Helped by considerable longevity, the PS2 sold 155m consoles across its life, and that’s a figure that any other home console will struggle to get near. However, the PS4 should bow out at nigh-on 120m and firmly establish itself in second — with Sony consoles holding all of the top three spots.

As for PlayStation 5, it has a hard act to follow, but the credentials seem pretty compelling…

TOP THREE BEST SELLING CONSOLES

1. Playstation 2
2. Playstation 4
3. Playstation

Personally I think the best way they can review games is have maybe a handful of people play the game (which I know would be hard) and then have them all review it and present their different reviews.  Maybe average their scores to come up with a final review score.  That way it's more open.  Some people could love something and some might not. :)

I wish they would also get peaple who would like this type of game to review it not someone who clearly wouldn't like it but I like your idea also this game could be bad but I don't trust ign sometimes

The problem if they get people to play a game who LIKES that kind of game is that they will always review it highly.  That wouldn't be right necessarily.  It would skew results.

I do like the multiple people reviewing one game idea.
