^ You presented yourself well and I see no reason why anyone should feel attacked by it.  You weren't aiming at anyone, nor was anything you said 'shocking' in anyway. ;D  Thanks for sharing.  There is certainly a lot of truth on the profit part for media corporations (As with any business).  As well, I did understand your point with the institution of policing and police officers.  I think you said that better than most anyone I've listened to or read comments from.

^ Thank you. :)
I'm glad I could not only make my points but also have them be understandable and non-judgmental, at least in your case.

I would like to think everyone here is pretty chill.  Even when we've had debates, people can leave the thread and be friends outside of it.  PSF has been good that way and I doubt it will change among our current members.  But it's still unknown the more new people that join how they will be.

I'm not as active or as experienced as you are on the forum, so I'll have to take your word on the culture of it. That said, I like to assume the best. I just know politics can be, at least for me, a very sensitive, volatile, and emotional arena. And, not to act special, but I usually feel like my politics are not well-received by most. So, I'm glad I made sense.

It made perfect sense.  Everyone knows I'm the conservative voice here, but yeah, what you said, I totally see where you are coming from and it was well said.  Thanks for sharing. :) I see a lot of agreement in our thinking.

^ It'd be interesting to have a deeper conversation about things with you as I don't currently have the nicest opinion of conservative politics. Not conservative people, mind you, just politics. I'm not sure this is the right place for it, though. Or, maybe it's the perfect place; I don't know.  :)

Yeah, I was thinking so. That way others can get involved to, if they want. I'm just not sure where to start. What would even be a good place to start?

I think it would just come naturally.  No reason to fore something that isn't there.  If a news story or topic appears you want to comment on, do it.

I mean if there is something you want to get off your chest and have a legit conversation, we can.  Otherwise when it happens, it happens. :)

Ah, okay then. No, there's nothing to really get off my chest other than what I already posted. I guess it'll just happen naturally, but I am interested in trying to understand the conservative mindset.

It's really not that complicated.  ;)  Traditional, save money, keep the government out of things.

But yeah, like any way of thinking, everyone is a little different.  For example, I want to protect the environment!

When I say "conservative mindset," I don't mean the positions that conservatives usually take on issues. I know what those are. What I mean by "mindset" is how does one justify or rationalize those positions - why do you think they are the "correct" positions? Let's take one example, say, universal healthcare. How does a conservative thinker rationalize their opposition to universal healthcare?

Or, I guess, how would you rationalize it? I don't expect you to speak for every conservative.  :P
