Haven not seen this one yet. Can't wait.

This episode was awesome. Tons of backstory and it was told really well! 10/10!
Vanhoover was mentioned for the first time. Lots of great characters, and we learn about the Apple's parents! Also there is a male sneeze from a pony. Also Applejack's Dad totally caught staring right at her Mom's butt as young ones. Hilarious.
It was truly heartwarming and the ending was wonderful. One of my fav episodes of all time.

The tone of this whole episode was something I haven't seen from this show, and it was wonderful. I absolutely adored this episode and the storytelling, the background, and the actual depth in this. They went very far about the Apple's backstory, but still tastefully left out what happened to the parents. Everyone is reverent and it was great to see some under utilized characters have more meaning and depth. This episode was perfect to me and I would love to see more like this. The song was wonderful, and that ending warmed me up. It was a really cute episode.
This episode gets an 11/10 in my book. My new personal favorite episode.

I loved this episode and how everyone was. It was one of my favorites in recent memory. Thrilled to learn about the Apple's as well as other characters. Truly enjoyed it.
9/10.

I don't know about you guys, but I loved this episode. I give it a huge 10. It was grade A in my book and gave me feels in an MLP episode I don't think I've ever felt. I loved the weaving web of a tail about the Apple's parents and how it all came to be. Also realized that other ponies are much old then I thought... and that Equestria advanced very quickly from the pioneer times of the Granny Smith folk to modern day. They advanced super quick.
-
...I can very well see why this episode is considered one of the entire show's best. •_•
I never would've expected an episode like this, back when I was watching Season 4.
I have no words, it's just... great. A solid 11 out of 10. :D
AJ's mom = cutest mom! X3

I have to agree this was a very good episode I give it a 10 as well.
-
I didn't expect this. This episode came out of nowhere with no hype. They should have been hyping it with ads saying "what happened to Applejack's parents is finally revealed!" What bad marketing on Discovery's part! This episode was amazing and truly one of my favorites of the season and the whole series! I just didn't expect it at all! I loved it! 10 out 10!
-
The more I think about this episode, I think it was the best episode.... of all.
-
You think so?
-
I do. Others, lets discuss some of this! What do you all think?
-
More input! Is this the best episode?
-
I think the biggest thing for me is they never actually said what happened to Applejack's parents.
We are made to assume and think they are gone... but they never said it.
-
I think it was "A Perfect Episode".
The song. The characters. All those moments, it... it was just fantastic. ;D
I think I'd be ready to call it "the best". :D
-
Truly... the best? THE BEST. Think of what you are saying here. All of us... think about this. Do we want to call this THE BEST? THE EPISODE that we would take people to to watch the series?
-
I think having a BEST episode doesn't mean it has to be the "go to" episode to show people. They would want context and need reasoning to have the emotions we feel when seeing this episode. They would need to learn about the characters and see prior episodes before they see this, otherwise the feelings would be lost on them.
-
Yeah, "the best" =/= "first episode to watch". ;)
-
Do you guys have an episode that would lead people too first to watch?
-
Actually, cancel that, lets stay on topic. ;D
-
I would be willing to put it in a top five list. Calling it the best might be hard since there are some other BEST episodes out there. ;D

AJ's mom = cutest mom! X3
Granny Smith was also quite the looker in her day. We've seen her in brief flashbacks, here as a colt (https://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/mlp/images/3/34/Young_Granny_Smith_the_seed_gatherer_S02E12.png/revision/latest?cb=20120111223332), and in "Apple Family Reunion (http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Granny_Smith?file=Granny_Smith_and_Apple_Rose_in_the_7_legged_race_S3E8.png)" as a spry young filly, but this is the most screen-time to date of her younger self. Also, her real name is never mentioned-- surely she wasn't always called "Granny", was she?
-
Oh yeah, forgot. Granny was cute too in her youth. :)
I dunno about the name thing. It's like Mayor Mare. Starlight describes it best in this image (http://derpibooru.org/1268986).
-
Granny Smith was super cute... and what is her name? Smith? I didn't think Mayor Mare... or Mare was as cute as a younger one. Didn't like that hair. ;d
-
This was one of my favorite episodes of all time!
-
I agree with everyone here. This was one of the best episodes there has been. 10/10. These writers need more writing opportunities.
-
I will score it a 10 out of 10 too. It was excellent.
-
I think this episode has our highest average score.
-
I didn't think Mayor Mare... or Mare was as cute as a younger one. Didn't like that hair.
She was always a little severe. She's like those middle-aged gals who sport fifties-era Laura Petrie 'do's and insist they're making a comeback. But it was nice of her to officiate an impulsive moonlight wedding for a couple of crazy lovestruck colts. She's a dame with class. I just hope, uh, those two didn't, you know, have to get married-- if you catch my drift, wink-wink, nudge-nudge.... ;)
I have to admit, I actually got a little misty towards the end there when the kids hugged their long-lost grandfather.

You got that right on, lol! Mayor Mare is more extreme then she hides under that fake hair... probably an attention seeker too. ;)
Aww, you are a big softy. ;)

Had to give this episode a 10/10. My fav episode of all time... very probable.
-
One of my favorite episodes of the season by far. 10/10.
-
10. One of the best episodes of this whole show if you ask me. It had heart, something most shows and episodes don't have. Great depth and development. Loved this one. Made everyone seem so much more connected.
