What do you hear? "Yanny" or "Laurel?"
More insight (http://time.com/5279069/yanny-laurel-explanation/)
-
Laurel. I just hear Laurel.
-
I hear Yanny.

This is one of those blue dress/gold dress (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_dress) things isn't it? Haha. Okay, I'll bite.
I distinctly hear Laurel. It's sort of a deep voice.
-
I hear Yanny.
-
It sounds weird, but I hear Laurel.
If I didn't have two options to choose from though, I would almost have no idea what he is saying.
-
Is it weird I can train my brain to here both? Naturally I heard Laurel first.

Done. :D ^

I clearly hear him say Laurel but like Smiles said, if I didn't have an option, I wouldn't be sure what they are saying.
-

Same, except I heard Yanny first.
-
I can only hear Laurel. *Shrugs.*
First few times I wasn't sure what was being said at all.
-
Can't hear Laurel. What I hear sounds more like Yanny. (Technically, I hear "Yarry". XD)
-
Just listened to it again. For some odd reason, now I clearly hear Laurel, but can't hear Yanny anymore.

Why do I hear Yammy?
-
I can't hear Yanny at all. I thought I did at first, but now all I hear is Laurel, Laurel, Laurel.
-
.....now I hear Laurel.....
-
Don't know how you are hearing Yanny. I am trying really hard to hear it, but I just don't. All Laurel to me.
Do we know what the majority of people are actually hearing? Well according to a very unofficial poll (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5737087/Is-audio-recording-saying-Yanny-Laurel.html) at the Daily Mail, over 60% hear Laurel and just 40% hear Yanny. The official right answer as to what is being said is
LAUREL
Still according to voice people, if you hear Laurel you are more likely to be
older. Older aged people (20+) are more likely to hear a deeper male voice say Laurel
. If you hear Yanny, you are more likely to be
younger (under 20) and hear a female's voice or a higher pitched voice.
What a strange phenomena. I wonder if our community will follow the average norm above?

Since this reminds me of the blue dress/gold dress debate from a few years ago, for the record... I never saw a gold dress. It was blue. And the correct answer was it was blue. ;) So I am going to two and zero right now. ;)
-
This kind of stuff fascinates me. Usually I can see or hear both sides. I just can't here. I can hear the distortion in the voice and some high frequency tones in it, which I am assuming is what causes some people to hear "Yanny."
-
Just Laurel. From the first moment I heard it, it was Laurel.
How are people hearing Yanny? It is a deep voice saying Laurel. What do people who hear Yanny think they hear? Whats the voice sound like?
-
Well as I said, the first time I might have heard Yanny... but then I immediately heard Laurel. The first listen was a weird distorted blurb.
-
Hmmm. I like these kind of puzzling puzzles. :D
-
I'm hearing Yammy not Yanny and now I'm hearing Laurel with Yammy. What's going on?
-
I think your brain is going to blow. ;D
-
HA HA lol
-
When you heard Yanny, was it high pitched sounding and is it slowly being deeper sounding the more you hear Laurel?
-
So I turned it down very quietly and at the same time as listening to the radio, I closed my eyes and played it. I could hear Yanny a lot more clear then if I turned up the volume, in which I hear Laurel.
-
I heard Yanny at first for the first two times or so then it went straight to Laurel. Now I can only hear Laurel.

Oh weird... I can hear that too! It's like recreating the first time hearing it.
-
Oh really? It works for you too? Wow! I think I may have discovered something!!
-
At least for the two of us. We'll see if others have that too.
-
That doesn't work for me.
-
All I hear is Laurel I'm confused.
-
^ It's good you hear Laurel. Don't worry. The guy is actually saying Laurel.
-
Amazing how quickly this whole Yanny/Laurel debate came along and how quickly it died off. No one is talking about it anymore. ;D
-
At first I heard yanny. Then Laurel. Now I can hear both. Yanny is in a weird high-pitched voice... turn the volume down to hear it.
