In typical MLP fashion, can't stand the theme song.

So here we go. First episode starts with a card of Pinkie Pie's crazy eyes.

Are these the same voice actors?

I think they are.

I think Applejack just talked to the audience.
"Did you miss this? I missed this."

So far it's a very loud show.

Their cutie marks are different too.

I'm happy the voices are the same.

So they have tv's now it seems. Modern tech.

Princess Celestia has been shown.

A judge panel of Celestias.

This is extremely fast paced. I can barely keep up.

I'm glad their friendship dynamic is there. But it's really just too fast to get what's going on,

I really hope there are sneezes in this show. I can totally see it. It seems to be the kind of show the would. Means our fav actors will get to sneeze again.

Well, this is very fast.

Episodes are only 10 minutes and split into 5 minute segments. DID NOT EXPECT that at all.

There character depth is pretty basic. They expect people to know their past series a bit. But it's very one dimensional so far.

I do like how Applejack tried to come up with random rhymes.

Judges.... Celestia seems kinda angry. Thats not her old voice, is it?

Pinkie using advice from all her friends.

Ponies getting FAT from eating. Fetish fuel early.

Very stupid way to get out of their jam.

I'm not a big fan of this new art style.... Very basic flash style animation. Not smooth.

Pinkie Pie makes it on the show. That was easy. Kind of an odd first episode.

Why was this even called Princess Probz?

Well, they have a learning moment at the end. A lesson we've heard a million times.

They drinking like drug induced potions? Weird.

So what did I think of the very first episode?
Uhhhh....... It was different. I can't say it was any different then normal, forgettable, quickly made cartoons for kids. I can't use the same grading scale as we did mLP:FiM because it isn't the same kind of show. It's hard to give a good rating now without knowing how our scale will lie with this show. For all I know, this might be the best episode ever and the rest will be poor.
But based on how I am feeling, it's pretty mixed. I will give it a 5/10.

Episode 1 is down and done. Our introduction to Pony Life. I noticed right away the decline in backgrounds for a more stylized look. The characters look different, have new cutie marks, and animation is much stiffer and not nearly as smooth. They added modern technology to the series, possibly to relate to modern audiences. Character voices are good, puns are everywhere, pacing is fast. But it really wasn't that great of an intro episode. Lots of screaming, yelling, fast cuts. I would say it isn't a deal breaker for the series, but more that I am curious as to what happens and how they will develop once they find their footing.
As of now, it's just a forgettable, everyday, throw away cartoon. I hope it can be better than that, but I don't think the show is aimed to be more than that.

From my opinion, the first two episodes of G4 weren't as good as «Boast Busters», «Winter Wrap Up» and so on, so we should give this show a chance. Maybe at least the potions will have some interesting uses in future episodes. And the sea (they even have a lighthouse! ^-^) gives a lot of new opportunities.

There is promise, but it's too early. I find this episode a strange episode to start a series off. It did no character building and very minimal world building other than Celestia is on a tv show. The backgrounds are sadly underwhelming and Ponyville looks ridiculous. I do like it is coastal now though. The story was predictable and just too much screaming. Didn't care for it.
