Because I apparently have nothing better to do at 2:45am on Friday after deciding to take a break from work. Have a preview of what I'm vectoring now, but don't get your hopes up, it's not that far along: link (http://imgur.com/ylVYT1P).
Why am I showing you guys this? Because now I'll have incentive to actually finish it. Honestly, half of the hardest part is done, and that's the eyes which take a lot of clipping and lots of nodes for the eyeliner and eyelashes.
I've realized 2-4am time zones usually lead to the most creative sparks. I suppose this applies to my craving to vector as it does to my writing. Speaking of which, you guys have been waiting a long time for a certain story about a certain pegasus....
-
Not sure why no one clicked thia yet. Oh yeah. You posted it when everyone sleeps. Lol. I cant open the link, but that is because i am on a phone that is dumb. Cant wait to see it.
-
I'm on an iPod, and I can see it. ???
Looks great. :D
-
This does look good so far! We will have to keep pushing you. You can be the first to vector this scene! Be a hero!
-
I assume this is from the new sneeze in the new episode everyone's talking about? I haven't seen it yet, both the preview and episode.
Do et, Leap! You can do et! Vector away, it's turning out great so far!
-
It's in the preview and new episode. I totally need to see this new episode.
Can't wait for it LP!
-
Yeah it's from the new episode. I still haven't watched it. I just took a screencap from the ending of the preview clip.
But yeah, I'll work on it some more.
-
Look forward to it!
-
I woke up super late today :( I hate when I oversleep X_X
Anyway, this looks great LP! :D I like how you took initiative and tried to do something.
-
Eh it's alright, I woke up at like 1:30pm today.
Thanks again. I just need to add color and stuff and finish the eyes. Which could take awhile. I'm probably going to have two versions. One that I post on Derpibooru with the normal nose, and then the one I post here.
-
No worries LP =) Just do what you want to do ^^ Take the time you need.
-
Good start, LP. Looking good.
-
I like this preview! Finish it while it is current and fresh! Optimal viewage!
-
You realize we are going to have to make you finish this. ;) Pro-Vectorer-er-er.
-
Haha, yeah, I'll finish it soon hopefully ^^
-
Don't make us get the pitchforks.
Kidding. ;)
-
Oooh, look at that wiggly nostril! What program do you use? Looks complicated, hehe.
-
Ah yes, the nostril I had to look at 3P's pieces for inspiration. I could not figure out a good shape at all for how the nostril to look. So I went to 3P's pieces and took a good look.
I use Inkscape, which is a vectoring software. It's apparently one of the more difficult ones to use from what I've been told recently OTL but no one told me that when I got it. So much suffering was endured to learn all the tricks, but now that I'm familiar with it I don't think I can switch.
-
It does look nice so far.
-
And the pressure's on and here comes stress in the backstretch, tension, coming on the inside. Your anger is holding back there, trying not to fall? Your fear is out of the running, due to use adding pressure now, so it looks like stress and tension coming, and the winner losses all!
-
Nu, I dun want to lose D:
Anyway, it looks kinda weird right now, since I haven't done the hair, and I'm not sure if I will. Rarity's hair is really hard OTL
I got two versions so far: http://imgur.com/a/DjSN3
Eyes took about 2 hours. Now I should probably stop procrastinating.
-
Was that a reference to this (https://youtu.be/RCZyvSWiW3g?t=27) song, Darrin?! How on earth did I get that?! How obscure are we going to get on this forum? I love this place! Lol!
To red nose or not to red nose. How long does a good vector take, LP? You are a vector expert after all.
-
Vectors take awhile depending on your skill level. And how complicated the piece is. Some people can crank out simple ones (ie. no crazy goofy, wavy line expressions or poses) in 20 minutes. The fastest I've done a vector (full body) took me about 3 hours. This one feels harder because what I'm vectoring off of is blurry as hell and is super dark lighting, making it hard to see the fine lines.
I wouldn't call myself an expert haha, there are tons of people better than me. Even people who don't need to use references like I do.
-
See if you can change the contrast and brightness in the photo. That should help with the darkness for sure. If not, I can brighten it for you.
-
Well, even then, that won't fix the pixelyness. And right now it's kinda too late haha, as I have the vector laid over the image. It won't be easy placing it back exactly where I had it before.
-
I see both. I honestly enjoy the non red one a little better but I like both a lot. Those eyes look detailed and I can see why it would take a long time to do. I don't draw digitally much at all. I have tried before...that is a story for another time ^^;
-
Yeah, I figured some people would like one or the other, so I did both.
Yeah, they're pretty detailed, Rarity has so many eyelashes x_x I showed this in the chat: http://imgur.com/YTJjR5I If you wanna see the nodes and stuff. Nothing really exciting, just a shit ton of them.
