I was browsing the internet just a couple days ago, and something very strange caught my attention. Apparently, last year a bunch of TikTok videos were posted, and they all had one thing in common... A person sticking their finger into a horse's "nose pocket," as the titles called it. Basically, it's just the top part of the horse's nostril. I'm not kidding. Google "horse nose pocket", and you'll most likely see a bunch of TikTok videos of people essentially picking horse noses. ???
On a related note, have any of you guys ever stuck your finger up a horse's nostril before?

I think TikTok is already a home of weirdeness ;D.
Your description of these videos makes me remind the JJBA:SC episode where some kind of opposite situation occurs: a man with Horse in his name, shoving his fingers (after 1:36) into Polnareff’s nostrils .

Never have and I certainly don't pay attention to TikTok, lol. Everything they do is weird, just to garner attention. The "me, me, me" generation.

For those curious, here is a nose pocket.
I assume it's dry in there since it isn't connected to the nasal cavity? Still seems risky for a hose sneeze.
-
I've never heard of a horse nose pocket. I wonder if you can safely keep snacks up there? ;D

Maybe, if the horse doesn't sneeze! ;D

It's probably wet and gross in there honestly.

As I know, this part of the nose is very far from sneeze-sensitive area, but I still don’t see anything interesting in picking the other’s noses.
I would more like to stroke the mane (especially if it’s Fluttershy ;D).
-
No thank you. I will stick to patting a horses mane or something.

Thanks for sharing the video, @Rainberry . I wouldn't do this, because I would find it intrusive. Like some of you already said, I would simply stroke and pat the horse's mane and neck. I was surprised, though, that the horse in the video didn't seem to mind the person sticking their finger up its nose pocket. So probably it is not that sensitive...
