Title: Reason why some shows later get character derailment

I think the reason why some shows later get character derailment on their characters during their later Seasons is because the show during it's earlier episodes already had an episode that would have wrapped up the series perfectly and how they made the show keep going with character derailment involved shows that there wasn't much to do with the characters again.
