Title: Rickety sketches (F, No Sneeze)
Post by: Miggs on 2016-02-01 19:53:54
So, I mentioned in another topic that I'm coming up with an OC called Rickety Rails. She's still in her conceptual phase, so I decided to do little sketches of her today.

http://imgur.com/RYAj5HX&7rVClzL

I have horrible hand writing as well as a not so good quality camera, so I will tell the dialogue.

First picture:
Right- "I could have been a nurse..."
Clown pic- "Look at me! I'm a clown! Don't I make you laugh?"

Second picture:
"Yep! That's some tead hrauma! Dead arauma! Head Trauma!"

I don't think your handwriting is bad :) I think these sketches are awesome to see! :D It gives your art a new perspective and I personally love sketches ^^ Sketches are just as important to do as outline/line art or coloring.

Anyway, the character herself has a bubbly, happy, and energetic vibe even when she looks down and sad she's still manages to warm my heart. I think how you drew her small stunned/shocked eyes and her happy :D sketch on the second page are my favorites. The clown outfit I could see her using it to try to cheer up a sick pony :)

Her hat sketch is really impressive to me, and I think the interesting sticking up little section in her mane is a cute addition :)

She looks so fun loving.  I love her dizzy pic and the one when she got pied.

Ohh, so that's what that was. I thought someone like, dumped a bucket of water on her face. I don't know why.

The only dialogue is:
"Good throw...."
and
"SERIOUSLY, KID, WHERE ARE YOU GETTING ALL THESE WEAPONS FROM?!?!"

Lovely expressions.
I love her devious one in the second image. I wonder what she's thinking...

Also, damn, what kind of kids is she babysitting?? Haha

She's definitely somepony I could picture in an anime =) She seems really cheerful and happy, but she knows how to show the full range of expressions ^^

Cool way of drawing the weapons too :) I like these sketches. Thanks for showing them!

Alphys was alright. But yah, she did have a pretty wide range of emotions haha

Alright so, I think until up to a certain point, I am going to have this thread/topic specifically for sketches I do of this character.

The first image is what I'm thinking of changing the CM to.

Not sure if you can read the dialogue or not but:

"ALRIGHT! OK! THAT'S ENOUGH MY EYES CAN TAKE! BYE!"
"I'D LOVE TO STAY AND WATCH YOU GUYS FORNICATE IN FRONT OF ME BUT I THINK I'VE GOT SOME TOASTERS THAT NEED SMASHING!!!"

"Chin up, head back and uh... don't suck!"

"What does it LOOK like I'm doing? I'm smashing a toaster."

*Pancake on the ceiling*
"How did....why? How?"

Aww, what a cutie.
Lol, what situations are you putting this poor mare into XD

Don't torture her too much. You have Cherry and Mal for that. XD

Hahaha. I wouldn't say they're torruted exactly.

I plan on making her one of my more "normal" characters, but the situations she gets into are what's abnormal.

Huh, that's a good gimmick. After all, in comedy you do need a "straight man" to react to all the craziness that goes on around them.

always in the wrong place at the wrong time. That's bad luck. XD

I love how her development is going! She's definitely got a lot of personality. c:

Forgive me if I've missed it somewhere, but what does her cutie mark represent?

Her CM is suppose to sort of represent hospitality.

It's a spoon of medicine with a handkerchief underneath it. However, the rework I might do (emphasis on might) makes it more like it's wrapping around the spoon more than as if the spoon is just on it.

I think she's supposed to be like a caretaker/babysitter.
Hue nevermind, I hate when I do that, make a comment only to realize there's another page DX

Well, you're pretty damn close, Leap!

But yeah, she's still in the conceptual phase, so a lot can change for her, so who knows, maybe that WILL be her sort of primary thingy!

I loved the misadventures she had, and a toaster? That's cute, hilarious, and dangerous all rolled into one!

I gotta say, I'm glad she got outta that sticky situation XD
