Another topic from the old forum. PETS! How many do you have, what kind are they, are they awesome? TELL!
Most of you of course know about my kitty storm.

Heh, cute!
I have a dog named Hercules. He's a rough collie, he's 9 years old.
I have 9 rabbits, they should be turning a year old in a week or something.
And of course, most recently, my 2 rats. Charley and Mason.
-
I swear to god, River. You and PPP both have so many pets.
-
Hahaha, it's not my fault my rabbit had 9 babies that all survived XD
-
Rabbits. Riiiiiight lots of babies.
-
Well no actually. Rabbits are known to breed quickly. They normally shouldn't have that many babies in one litter. Much less have them all survive. They usually have 4-7. She has NINE! It's insane.
-
Pets. Pets everywhere! XD
I've never had a rabbit as a pet before but I've heard they can be either amazing or amazingly-troublesome. Also Blurr!! Your cat looks like a ruler over the household! Also either you yourself in that picture or your friend or someone looks really similar to a college person I know in one of my classes XD
-
They can be a pain in the butt. Depends on their personality. However, they are quicker to be destructive than rats from what I've experienced. My rabbit Missy went directly for cables and chomped through my friends and half way through mine. My rats however just prefers crawling through my bed sheets and then once he's comfy trying to chew through my sheets. But you tell him to stop he will. Idk, it's prob just that rats are smarter.
-
Storm is my ruler
-
Hue, cats tend to be that way :P
-
Doge

-
Your doge is so cute Miggs. And from what you tell me, kinda silly at times :P
-
Puppeh!
-
Pets, huh? Well adding all the dogs I've had up is 7.
We've had 7 horses, not all at once.
At one point my sis had a rabbit, and one of my brothers had two turtles..
Now my bro has a lizard, and I have a tortoise.. and yeah, they are/were all awesome pets!
But geez.. I didn't realize we had so many animals til I typed all that out..
-
Haha, wow, do you have any dogs now?
And wow! Horses! Thad awesome. I love horses. They're fun to ride :)
-
I've never ridden a horse but wanted too
-
It's fun. But it takes getting used to.
-
At least I have long enough legs
-
Well, that doesn't really... Matter....
It just would mean you'd have to ride a taller horse, if I'm not mistaken.
-
My only experience with horses were when I did service work on several farms while I lived in Pennsylvania. I was stunned to discover that horses were just as sneezy as their human masters were in those dusty old barns ;) Most of the time they snort, but I've caught a few sneezes from them too :D
I've only ridden a few times when I was little...they scared the heck out of me XD I also think I got motion sick by riding them ^^;
I gotta say though, horses are beautiful animals and I love watching people ride them. I just don't enjoy doing it myself.
-
I was stunned to discover that horses were just as sneezy as their human masters were in those dusty old barns ;)
Rarity dust allergy is based on reality? I accept
-
Haha, yeah horses do sneeze in real life. Usually, as MS said, just a snorting sneeze.
I personally love the smell of horse. It's so earthy, and has this horse musk to it. I love it.
-
never smelt a horse before
-
They smell really good.
Not like, sweet good. But it's a nice smell. They smell of outdoors and just, mm. It's a nice strong smell.
-
Awesome
-
This is Heidi! (https://sta.sh/0uiqdl5ak5q) She's currently napping on my lap as I type.
I also had a guinea pig named Tweek (named after the South Park character) who passed away in October. We had him since 2011 though, so the little guy was awfully special to me. This is what he looked like. (http://sta.sh/01qn52v6ch4m)
-
Tweek is one of my fave south park chars
-
He came with the name when we adopted him from my friend; she had another one named Craig. It just felt right to keep the name.
-
Well, those who remember me from PSF 1.0 or follow me at dA know about my little friends Mooch (http://haggismccrablice.deviantart.com/art/Moochie-and-Me-518778088) and Bear (http://haggismccrablice.deviantart.com/art/Bear-518779311). The lucky few who have following me online the past decade might even remember my stories about the great and mighty Lana Squad (https://www.dropbox.com/s/in3uvfxs9i361st/01.jpg?dl=0). In fact, most of my animal characters are based on pets I've owned or known over the years.
-
Aw, Paws, they're both cute as hell!
Ooh, a Pitbull. I get somewhat triggered by those. Still a very nice looking dog though!
Not really sure what I have to say about Bear, sorry the quality is kinda...uh...bad. But from what I can see, they're a very nice looking dog also!
-
He is a cute dog
-
My pet rat was chilling with me today. He kept slipping into my jacket and I'd look down and kiss him and keep typing. He can be such a sweetie.
-
... sorry the quality is kinda...uh...bad.
I've only had this camera for a year and just recently figured out how to adjust the light filter levels... plus moving across the hall to a better-lit room helps. Here's a few more shots from my gallery (http://haggismccrablice.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=48)....
-
Aw, Paws, they're both cute as hell!
Thanks, Miggs!

That's adorable.
Tweek is also one of my fave characters. He's such a spazz. It's funny how your friend had them named as Tweek and Craig. Did she happen to ship them ;P
-
She most certainly did! ;P
She got Craig about a year before she got Tweek, and named him Craig because she just so happened to like the name. Then her older brother got Tweek for his girlfriend (who didn't want him), so my friend ended up taking him. Because she already had Craig, and Tweek was pretty spazzy, the name felt like a natural fit.
Caring for both of them ended up being too much for her to do on her own though, so our family adopted him.
-
Wow, what a crazy coincidence eh?? That's pretty cool though. I do like Craig as a name. I'm not one for naming my pets real names though (Charley and Mason are the exceptions).
Is it just me, or is there like close to no South Park material on SFF? I'm weird, I've actually looked. There's like, 3-4 short stories.
-
Maybe its hard for people to get fetishy with cardboard animation?
-
It's hard to spoof a show that pretty much lampoons itself. I mean, they did two whole shows about shit, fa-gawds-sake.
-
Well, they were originally construction paper. But hey, it's about the characters, eh? I've been so tempted to write for the show, but haven't because I don't really know if there'd be an audience for it.
"ACADEMY AWARD WINNING SHOW!"
-
I now have to sleep with THREE animals on my bed at night. My two shih tzu dogs at my legs and Storm on my shoulder
-
D'aw, cute. Do they get along?
-
for the most part. They're still getting used to each other
-
That's good. My old cat never got along with my dog.
-
These two dogs are pretty docile
-
So is mine, he just has no sense of personal space haha
-
neither do mine
-
... sorry the quality is kinda...uh...bad.

Dere day are! They're pretty damn cute, man!
-
Heh, "dare she is!"
-
I miss the cat I had BEFORE storm...
-
I hear ya there, having four dogs back to back either being stolen, jumping the fence, getting hit by a car, or just dying of old age.. Holy- I didn't think I sucked this bad with pets! I mean.. I've got three dogs now and have for and have for bout 10 years so... that counts for some points right?
-
I just had one cat before storm and she died three years ago
-
Uh... wut?
-
I was confused much by your last comment on the last page.
I had 3 cats before my dog.
-
were they good cats?
-
They were good in their own way.
They all went differently too.
-
Awwwwww
-
1 ran away.
The other escaped the babysitters house and I found her body near our house. I'm guessing she was hit by a car trying to come home.
And the oldest one (the first one) died of cancer.
-
I'm so sorry
-
It's alright. I was mostly sad about the last one.
I felt a tumor, but my parents didn't believe me until it was too late.
-
uurgh.....
-
I'm not mad at them. I was at the time annoyed, and angry. But also sad. I didn't get to say goodbye to him.
-
I've been there before. I never got to say goodbye to my last cat either
-
Yeah... I remember you told me the story.
-
Oh yeah....then we started that Rarity story.....which I STILL haven't completed!
-
Heh heh, oh yeah...
-
One day I tell you.....ONE DAY
-
I gotta go over it with a fine tooth comb and stuff.
-
Oh I know
-
It needs tweaking and stuff.
-
Well you are an editor and I like your opinions
-
Aw, thanks ^^
Man, I'm still pissed about that huge critique I wrote about your pilot episode thing that took my 3 hours to write was deleted... so much hard work T_T
-
I made a few adjustments. If you wanna take another look and try again....
-
I could... but those suggestions were so great... It hits my feels in the wrong way...
But yeah, I could try again.
-
I'll send you the links over skype
-
Alright.
-
It's always sad losing a pet... and you always wish you had taken more pictures of them after they're gone. I'm not the best photographer, I'll admit, but I always try to grab a snap or two a week of my little guys.
-
Yeah... You definitely wish that after they pass.
Fortunately, I did have some good pics of my last cat.
-
Same here
-
And you definitely got a ton of Storm pics
-
oh yeah~
-
A whole bunch of them
-
what can I say, he's an awesome cat
-
He is a very handsome fellow.
-
Indeed he is. Lucky to have him
-
You are, even if he acts like he owns the house XD
-
and bites me
-
They're love bites
-
Do they?
-
Do they what?
-
love bites?
-
That's what vet's and people in the animal field call them.
Love bites.
-
I should explain better. They're not malicious, they're just nibbles. It's said in a somewhat tongue in cheek way.
-
ahhhhhhh that makes sense
-
Yeah haha. They're just... love bites.
-
thats my storm. Always the nibbler
-
Get him a hand shaped chew toy :P
-
not a bad idea...do they make those?
-
I have no idea... maybe you could make one with a mold of your hand :P
-
And coat it with catnip
-
Yes! Smart.
-
weed for a cat who's already hyper as hell.....gotta charge the camera
-
Yeah, good luck with that lol
-
I'll be sure to post to youtube
-
Please do.
Reminds me of that video of "never had coffee? Try some."
-
link?
-
You're the one who linked it in PSF 1.0.
-
I did?
-
Yeah, you posted it saying this would be you when you would finally try coffee XD
-
ooooooooooooooo
-
do you remember what the video was? Because I don't
-
It was some dude turned invincible because of coffee and goes rainbow.
-
I have to look for it
-
Anybody love dogs.
-
I love dogs!
My boyfriend and I plan to adopt 2 greyhounds when we get a place of our own. I just love how elegant they look. And he wants a pug, because as he puts it "they're so ugly, but they're so adorable!" He's such a sucker for cute things.
-
I love dogs as well. I just prefer cats
-
They're both really cute. I love both :)
-
ANIMALS EVERYWHERE
-
Rodents are also cute ^3^
-
I never had a pet rodent
-
Neither have I, until- wait no, I had my rabbits. Nevermind lol.
My little rats are adorable.
-
Only canines and felines for me. Though there was this one time I took care of a baby bird back when I was like 5......me and my brother killed it.
-
Why only cats and dogs?
Rats are highly intelligent, and are very affectionate.
What really? What happened? Was it an accident?
-
I don't know why cats and dogs. Just a family preference I guess.
I can barely remember what happened. I was only 5 years old at the time.
-
Ah. That's sad. But maybe it was an accident.
-
Of course it was an accident. I would never willingly kill a baby bird
-
I thought you said it was your brother.
-
I have a cat named Zombie ^^
-
Really? That's different. Is there a reason you named him zombie?
-
it was kinda both of us.
Zombie? Awesome name
-
Ah. I see. Well, you were young, it wasn't on purpose.
-
I was about to name Storm, "Deca" when I first got him
-
Really? That's different. Is there a reason you named him zombie?
A few reasons:
1: His birthday is the 22nd of October *close to Halloween, so wanted a spooky name*
2: Nerdy side of me, wanted to see how many people would run out with weapons when I go outside calling after my cat XD
-
Deca? Now that's an odd name lol.
Aaaah, I see. Reason 2 is the best reason ever. That's just glorious.
-
Reason, our last cat was named Millie. Short for millenium. So I wanted Deca because it was short for Decade
-
Ahaha, that's cute.
My first (and last) cats name was Minino, or Mino for short. It means cat in Spanish, or more exactly it means kitty cat or some variant thereof.
Then the two siblings we got together were Spoony and Magira, Maggie for short. Spoony was the one that ran away, and Maggie was the one that ran away from the babysitters house and got hit by a car trying to get home. And Mino is the one that lasted the longest, dying of cancer.
-
My two shih tzu are named Aspen and Boo. Both of them are purebread dogs and Aspen is Boo's mother.
-
Huh cool.
So did you guys breed Aspen?
-
Yeah we did. She had four puppies. We kept one and sold the other 3
-
Ah. Interesting. That's pretty cool :)
I hope she's spayed now though, if you're no longer breeding her.
-
yeah she's spayed. All my pets are fixed
-
That's good. So many people don't and it's so frustrating.
-
It's like Bob Barker says:
Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered. Goodbye everybody.
-
Heh, well that's not the only reason you should spay them. Responsible pet owners wouldn't let their dog breed with another dog without them knowing. You know supervision.
I'm talking more abut medical reasons you should have your dog spayed.
-
Well she's been spayed for 10 years now
-
That's good. I was talking more about people who don't and just blargh. It's annoying.
-
yeah.....when animals go into heat and you don't even bother to breed them, it can get annoying and not worth the trouble
-
Not even that.
I'm talking actual serious medical conditions that arise because you don't fix your animals.
-
True very true
-
I've seen some shit. And I'm sure full time vets have seen worse.
-
I haven't seen as much shit compared to those out there who have like a zillion pets
-
Heh, yeah.
-
Mooch had to be spayed for medical reasons-- he's deaf, and the vet was concerned any children he produced would also be deaf. Now, with Lana, I noticed that she always seemed less aggressive and more at peace when she was rearing a new litter of kittens-- I wouldn't have had the heart to take that from her. Plus, we live in the country, and good mousers are always welcome.
-
Aw, that's cute.
-
Mooch. Great name for a pet
-
Heh heh, is he a... moocher? Eh, eh??
-
Is Mooch a pooch?
-
Hue!
-
It was too perfect to not say
-
That pun actually worked out for you
-
Why thank you. It's rare that happens
-
Like that lame cheetah one :P
-
...........sh-shut up
-
You'll never live it down! >:D
-
Please let me do just that...
-
Nevah!
-
Whyyyyy
-
Because I'm evil mwahaha
-
And it was actually really funny XD
-
b-bite me
-
Okey
-
you know where I like it
-
*noms ear*
-
thank youuuuuuuuuuuu~~~
-
Heehee
-
That could have gotten really dirty really fast.
And yes, Mooch is an unrepentant mooch. Although Bear is no slouch either in that department; he will happily steal unguarded food if given half a chance.
-
Ha! Guess he eats like.... a bear.
-
booooooooo
-
-
I have a Storm on my lap
-
Cyute.
-
Ha! Guess he eats like.... a bear.
Well, if bears like to chase, catch, and rip the heads off of rabbits and squirrels, then... yes.
(crickets) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re72di5phM0)
See, I can be awkward too.
-
we're all awkward
-
Ha. I can see that XD
-
AWKWARD FTFW
-
you know your pet loves you when it comes up to your lap and gets comfy without even having to be called over
-
The vet came out a few days ago for annual shots and to float the horse's teeth1. I held the little beast's head as the vet ground away, and we wound up chatting about her behavioral progress since I'd gotten her. She was very spoiled and bossy in the beginning, and of the opinion that a human's purpose was simply to fetch her food without delay and then go away until needed again. And no touching allowed.
Me: Oddly enough, cleaning her udder2 was one of our earliest breakthroughs. Turns out she loves it.
Vet: (To horse) You little hussy!
My vet's an amusing lady.
http://imgur.com/QfzXmEQ
----
1. Horses' teeth grow constantly since their food is pretty abrasive. They don't always wear evenly though, so they'll get sharp edges that are pretty uncomfortable and need to be filed down periodically. The device used is a power tool called a float.
2. Mares have two teats, and tend to get a buildup of gunk between them over time. I've heard a lot of owners complain that their mares hate having them cleaned.
Sounds like you have property! Pretty neat. :)
-
Oh my gosh! What an adorable girl! It seems weird to say I love her coloring as she's gray, but I do like it. Even if they look dirtier faster haha. She's got a cute little face though. Your vet, I like your vet, she's got a sense of humor that's up my ally. So your horse (or is she a pony? She looks on the small side in the picture) is slowly warming up to human touch, that's good. Nice to see how their behavior progresses for the better ^^
-
That is cool! You got a small horse! I've heard that actual pones are kind of jerks. Hopefully your's is not. ;)
-
Haha, yeah no, I was gonna say white before I noticed her gray skin. I was taught the basic colorings and markings of horses when I was younger and horse back rode more consistently. I do want to get back in the saddle though, it's been too long. Ah, fleabitten's are cute, love the little mini spots. Grays look very pretty, but they get dirty faster haha. Eesh, I know the struggle of getting through to a horse that doesn't like being touched. I leased a brat named Blue once, we called him a "hony", he was a nasty boy to me. He'd let me tack him up, but you tried to pet or be affectionate and he'd come at you with teeth. Even the more experienced riders couldn't get a blanket on him, he'd bite their asses. I'm glad to hear though that she's better than before, little steps after all. Was she abused before, or does she just really not like being touched?
D'aw! What a cutie. She's got a thicker body, kinda makes her look smaller than she is. I'm lovin' the purple.
-
She looks very pretty and well loved... on top of cared for. :) Thanks for sharing with us, your pone!
