One of those rare ones where nostalgia is gleamed from your sense of smell!
Oh, the smell of PVA-based glues is indeed one of the memories from the school years ;D.
However, I can say my sense of smell now is more dull than back then — I definitely remember how winter and spring were more fresh for me than today, and summer was more... flowery. Funny coincidence, but it started to change when I started making the day-long bicycle hikes. Luckily, the same food tastes roughly the same as before, and the grass is still green — at least, before it gets burned by the sun ;D.

Nostalgia me!

The smell of a can of Play Doh or the scent of Elmer's glue from arts and crafts!

Now that's a thought.  One of those rare ones where nostalgia is gleamed from your sense of smell!

So "woke" nonsense and DEI ideals have ruined another superhero franchise.  Great.  Perhaps it's time, in the spirit of exclusivity, we did another slow-paced, painfully-acted British murder mystery featuring an all-Asian cast--only this time around we can put it on the big screen and stream it for a wider audience.

I mean, hey, now, let's go step into the same bag of dog dookey we did forty years ago, right...?  The time seems perfectly ripe for it.

Better yet, what will people of the 2020s even be nostalgic for?
Well, I'm hoping Donald Trump will be hailed as the Teddy Roosevelt of our generation, or at least a Calvin Coolidge (though decidedly lacking his famous taciturness).  But, yeah: Covid-19, C.H.O.P. zones, cancel culture, men playing women's sports, the 2004 election seeing that dried-up old turd Biden supplanted by Kamala the 100-day queen, Charlie Kirk's assassination--the first quarter of the twenty-first century reads like a Billy Joel song in Hell.

Hey, speaking of nostalgia, remember the days before YouTube, when you were too broke to afford to buy an artist's whole album, so you had to pop a blank cassette tape into your deck and wait, finger pressed on the record button 'til it trembled and the nail went white, for songs like this to play on the stereo so's you could record it?     :-[   f--- me, I'm so goddamn old....

I always wanted them to make it so we didn't need to sleep for so long.  But I believe irl truckers have to rest a designated amount of time after a certain amount of time driving. (the blog post reiterates this.)

Smart changes for players who want to play this way, but I just turn it all off.

Oh yeah, that’s the option I turned off before my very first delivery in ETS almost ten years ago ;D.
I doubt anything can make me turn it on back again.

So I was chatting with Google Gemini (after I just made one of my famous Saturday morning cartoon
blog posts, and the subject of Paulina Gillis, a.k.a. Tabitha St. Germain, came up.  Whenever a nostalgia nut like myself speaks of most any cartoon of the eighties and ninteties, chances are she, Tara Charendoff (later Strong) or Alyson Court played a part in it--The Three Divas of Canadian animation, I've dubbed them.

Note whenever Rarity gets overtired or really upset, her posh accent slips a touch and she whines just like Kootie Pie or ALF's baby sister. The poor dear's development is more arrested than [here the author of this post makes a rather ethnically-insensitive comment that might have been fine back in 1994 but most certainly is not acceptable in 2026; he is sent to a sensitivity camp=slash-reeducation center for six months, whereupon he returns to finish this post]

So when will people start feeling nostalgic for the 2000s or 2010s?
Ugh, it'll take a while for me. Not the most stellar time for me, what with a mountain of rejection letters from publishers, a string of lousy jobs, failed relationships, high (for the day--1.50/gal) gas prices, and the ascension/election of Barack Obama.  And let me tell you something else, me buckos--      [here the author of this post is whisked away and returned to the reeducation center to learn more sensitivity skills]
