First of all: If some of you gets any weird idea, don't. I was working on this way earlier than what you might think... kinda.

You see, a while ago I found out that Studio Trigger occasionally do livestreams (In english to boot... for the most part, at least) where the various animators draw stuff.
I mean, I can watch the geniouses that worked on Kill La Kill, Gurren Lagann, Little Witch Academia, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Space Patrol Luluco, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Gunbuster drawing? ...and like, see what techniques are they using and how they work?

I mean, I had to try their techniques... I was forced to do it!
What kind of self-proclaimed artist I would be if I didn't feel inspired by this stuff!?
Especially if I love this kind of stuff!
It didn't even helped that I wanted to try new things for while by now.

So yeah, I spent the last week or more trying the techniques I saw on their livestreams.
...And I made a couple of sneezy doodles too... because, why not? I guess I am that rotten to the core, but whatever.
I decided to make something out of those doodles... And this happend:

I'm gonna be honest with you... I'm kinda disappointed by the final result.
I might have been too ambitious, I still can't handle the different artstyle and so I ended up using my usual style to fill the gaps.
The result is just my usual artstyle with a slighty thinner lineart. :|
To compensate, I added colours for a change but... whatever.
Enjoy.

Some advice in regards to the Studio Trigger style:

Try messing around with the proportions. Studio Trigger is super well known for having these proportions that can alter a character's look from cutesy to badass. I think you have the right idea with the shading and lineart, but the proportions is what needs work. Try shaping the heads a bit differently. I think one of the right things you're doing aside from the already mentioned is the eyes. From what I've seen, the eyes look more different than any of the other stuff you've done.

Also we got a Ryuko sneeze out of this, fuck yes.
From what I've seen of Ryuko, her eyes typically have a bit more "edge" to them, even when she's in a more neutral looking face.

I have no idea what Studio Trigger or who Ryuko is, so my knowledge is none on this.  But I LOVE how you drew this and the colors.  It's super cute. :D I like the sneeze drawing.

Studio Trigger is... well, the Studio that has made(or produced...?) different anime including: Kill La Kill, Inferno Cop, Space Patrol: Luluco, Little Witch Academia, and Gurren Lagann.
Those are the ones at the top of my head, at least.

You're doing a nice job.  I think you designed her character nicely and I like how she sneezes. I like the sound of it.

Nice stuff here!  Looks great if you ask me!

It's also nice you shared your process of getting to the final result!  Nice work!

Usually they make those crazy proportions during... the craziest parts of their shows, not quite fitting for a simple sneeze I think.
For the head shapes, for the most part I think they are all right. Except for the last panel.
Oh my God, what the hell happen to her head in the last panel?
It was ok in the rough sketch, I messed up royally during clean up... DX

And yeah, proportions are still not quite right. I carried too much stuff from my usual artstyle for the proportions.
While I was working on this, I noticed that Ryuko is actually pretty damn hard to get right.
Her overall deisgn is surprisingly girly, her colour scheme and a lot of very small and subtle details are what gives her the tomboysh/edgy look.

Thank you for your comment and suggestions!

Quick recap: In the western anime community you'll often hear 2 opinions:

First opinion: Miyazaki is right, anime was a mistake. Nothing but trash (He never actually said that, but that's the joke).
And they are right, 90% of anime is a pile of steaming garbage. 9% is ok-ish... but that 1%. That damn 1% is what makes it all worth it.

That's where you'll hear the second most common opinion: Studio Trigger saved anime!
That's because inside that 1% you're going to find most of Studio Trigger shows.
Usually their shows are absolutely crazy and over-the-top. In their craziest scenes the animation is absolutely insane and beautiful.
It's usually followed by at least 5 episode with charmingly crappy animation to save budget but nothing is perfect I guess.
there, in this last part I described to you Kill La Kill too so... yeah!

Sorry for nerding out like this, but thanks for your comment!^^

I thought people would have fallen to sleep on their keyboards halfway through, I'm glad you liked it!

idk, Satsuki and Mako are pretty good waifu materials too. Ahah!

Thank you very much showing what you did! The coloring you did for her outfit looks very nice to me.

I honestly prefer your own style more, but it isn't a bad thing at all to try drawing in other styles every now and then to expand what you can do.

Kill La Kill is a guilty pleasure of mine...mainly because my family members really didn't like this show, but I personally thought the show was entertaining, funny, and the character designs were different than what I am use to.

Ryuko. I am honestly really happy you picked her to draw in your idea here =) Out of all the characters in the show, she had the most exposure and possible chances to actually sneeze in the show. I also really like that she has a sweet happy side to her too but it is rare to see. Sasuki has an awesome design, but almost the entire show she frowned constantly and it made me not like her as much compared to the freedom of emotion that Ryuko had.

Nui freaked me out in the show though XD She reminded me of a psycho looney toon.

It's that much of a guilty pleasure if there are a lot of people out there claiming that this is one of the best anime series ever made.
I mean, I can understand why people don't like it. It's definitely a show that was not made for everyone to enjoy.
But it's faaar from being a bad show! XD

Thank you for your comment MS! :)
