Hey, it's great for me so far.  I was going through my can of spare change, and I found a nineteen-seventeen wheat penny.  I must have picked it up during my last grub run.  It's now the oldest piece in my collection, and Coin Tracker says it's worth just over a hundred bucks.  Some swell return on a four-dollar lunch, eh?

That's pretty sweet indeed! Nice.

The oldest coin I have that I found in public is a 1947 wheat penny, but not as old as yours.

Ah, a prize indeed.  The real key lies in the mint mark.  If your eyes are sharp, look to see if there's a minuscule "P", "D", or no letter at all, stamped below the date.  In good condition--this is quite important--a '47 wheat can fetch upwards of $8-15.  But even if it's a bit beat-up and worth no more than fifteen cents, you still have a pretty swell conversation piece (assuming I can find a lass who shares my love of small change). Why, I practically weep to see how some people treat their pennies; I've found some on the street so scuffed and scratched you can't even make out Abe Lincoln's face on the front.

Well, I did read of one piece that sold at auction recently for over five grand... so you could be a thousand-aire.  And that's no foolin'... very unlikely, I will admit, but quite on the level.

Okay, now that's a bit of foolin'.  But minting goofs and misstamped coins have fetched savvy collectors a-- if you'll pardon the expression-- pretty penny, too.

Oh my.  Happy April 1st guys.  Anyone partake in April 1st jokes? I haven't really thought of anything, but I guess I will determine something when I wake up for work in the morning.

I wonder why this site has so much guests this year ;D. Their typical number now is higher than any former records, and the current record exceeds 16 thousand.

I've noticed that.  I wonder who they all are and why?
