I think the natural laziness can lead to forgetting about buying the new toothpaste tube and developing the skill to use the existing one till the dead end ;D.

I've been known to cut the tube open with scissors to get the last squib of tartar-control goo. That can be risky if there's more than you can use at a sitting, though-- you easily lose, the last two, three brushfuls that way, unless you call in more mouths.

I've never done the scissors to a toothpaste bottle before.  Imagine you do it and it's filled with like a dead bug and this whole time you'd been using it unknowing of this horrible fact.
