Yeah, I can see the resemblance, kinda. The Sparkle residence has a different, simpler front door, a two-car garage on the opposite side of Daria's place, and that big jutty bit in the front--bay window, I think it's called--but it's a similar style of home. Possibly modeled after an actual house in the artist's neighborhood?
I am willing to bet Twilight's house will gain more details if we see it more. It seems pretty plain in some ways, bit much in terms of landscaping. Curious where their rooms are in comparison to the home. We also are not sure what the side and rear looks like other than close up shots of the character's sometimes at the rear door, which seems to be attached to a kitchen-dining room area.
Also from the comic, it shows she does live on a hill compared to the rest of the town.
