As pointed by some comments, this screenshot:

brings many question from railway maniacs ;D.
There is no proper railroad crossing (so how the game will make the driver to stop?), and there is no power lines above the electric train ;D. So, I hope this is not a final version of this place.
As for the ER2 train itself, since 2006 the iconic green paint scheme has been changed to grey-and-red:

and in 2010s most of the old trains were scrapped or transferred far away from Moscow.
The funny fact: pre-1974 ER2 had much rounder face, and post-1996 ED4’s face was as flat as possible. So, when the ideas how to make it more flat ran out ;D, the Russian manufacturers eventually decided to make the modern slick and streamlined shape, close to Siemens-based trains, which replaced ER2-s around Moscow.

This is a good blog post with lots of info.  The SCS team did their best to tip-toe on touchy issues that Mr. Putin wouldn't be pleased to read about, lol.  (I like to imagine Putin plays ETS2.)  Some bits by SCS were, "Whilst Russia maybe known for its very well-used roads..." or how there is no uniform signage throughout the country on road signs with lines like... "as there is quite the variety of them in Russia. Besides the standard road signs on poles, we encountered new challenges, such as hanging signs, dynamic warnings, new horizontal signage, unique railway crossings and many more..." but personally, this all sounds fun! Like a new challenge!

Imagine signs you could easily miss, and maybe accidentally miss your turn!  There was the train crossing with no crossing arms or signs, maybe there is now a chance to wreck your truck at them?  (Though in the game, both ATS and ETS2, if you manage to get your trucks on the tracks, the trains always stop.  I bet most people didn't know that).

Another thing I noticed is with picture 26. People crossing the road?  Is this a new hazard we will have to watch out for?  Or are they in a non-drivable area?

Overall, this blog post has me excited for the varied roads and crazy signs.  Lots of good photos too. Imagine how wild it would be if we drove further east!!

Also let's play COUNT THE LADA'S!  How many did you see in the photos? :D

A few of these locations might be findable.  8 and 27 come to mind.

Picture 24 and 25 are of the same spot, just the camera facing a different direction.

Image 26 might be findable.

So.... let's begin finding?  Lol!

Also let's play COUNT THE LADA'S!  How many did you see in the photos? :D

I counted 9 older Lada's.  Sedan, Hatchback, and estate/wagon  variants.  I didn't count any modern Lada's, but there are a few as well.

@MasterXtreme Thank you for finding those locations.  They look fairly accurate to the real thing.  Just more pristine than the real thing.

The latest ETS2 blog post was very good. Even more to search for.

I am willing to think the train color is different as to not have any issues with the train company of today.

Also, it fits to the surrounding colors ;D.

I'm shocked this blog post only got 28 comments!  Usually they would have around 80 to 100.

As others have mentioned, the train being electric without electrical wires is humorous and will hopefully be fixed.  They've done electric trains with wiring before... I think, so it might just not be done yet.  I think they mainly wanted to show of the train crossing with no warning signs and poor visibility.

Trains don't need no sissy sign crossings.  You can see it is a train crossing.  Look both ways before crossing!  Don't be a wimp!

What else we can find?

The Russian part of *TS Wikia contains the map, where blue means the existing 2018 content, bright green — the regions where the locations from official screenshots were found, and darker green — the regions between the confirmed ones, so they will likely be present as well. Also, three regions marked by orange are not confirmed, but it might happen ;D. And how it looks on Google Maps:

So, the map is close to, but don’t reach
• Saratov — the birthplace of eponymous tiny refrigerators :{
• Kazan — the city with the airport, attacked by Lada :D
• Tolyatti/Togliatti — the birthplace of Ladas ;D
• Ulyanovsk — the birthplace of Lenin >:D
• and Yoshkar-Ola, where you have a street which imitates Bruges ::|

But, even the confirmed part is huge. The expected number of marked cities is more than 50.

^ Fantastic research.  So it's going to be a very sizable map most likely.  On par with the recent ETS2 DLC's with larger maps.

I never knew about Yoshkar-Ola.  That looks interesting.  Also... the more Lada references we have the better!

New blog post Tuesday is my prediction!  I'm so excited for some new news. ;D  Though I am sure they will have a blog post closing the Christmas trucking event.

I do think the next event will be ending the trucking event.  They gave us a huge Texas update, followed by a good Russia update.
