MONTANA IS NO LONGER BLACK ON THE GAME MAP!  IT'S GRAY!!! :D

What does that mean?

Playable locations on the map are gray.  Non playable is black.  So it means they are close to releasing Montana to make it playable. :)

Think of the quality of the map by the time they get to Maine. ;D  It will be insane compared to the original California. ;D

Will Maine be last?  Yeah, it probably will, lol.

But they've done dense places before... granted they were pretty long ago in their history.  The Benelux is an example of a dense area in ETS2, but you'd never really know it...

They've done dense cities and metropolitan areas too.

Thanks all! :D

Yeah, true.  They have done dense areas before I guess.  But it will be hard with the US east coast with so many big cities being so close to each other.  Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York, Newark, Jersey City, etc.

Don’t know why, but I want to drive to the neighbour parts of Canada and Mexico more than to Miami, DC, Atlanta etc. ;D

I am sure when they redo going over the Benelux, they will sneak in more cities, even if they are scenery.

They've done dense locations like the Bay Area.  But even then, they didn't really include Oakland or San Jose.  But the new portions of the map show they will probably do it right when they redo it.  A lot of it seems empty still, but it's mainly the old portions.

Los Angeles and it's metro is dense, but it doesn't really seem like it currently.

Seattle metro is very dense, and they showed Bellevue as a scenery locations when driving across the floating bridge heading east.  They have the other major cities as locations like Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, and Olympia.  So they did squeeze it all in even though it feels bare and squished in spots.

Other than that, there are no super dense locations yet in ATS.

I'm pretty confident Canada and Mexico will come in due time.  I really believe that.  SCS seems to want to do that too as when asked, they've never denied it and in a stream they said they want to continue after they complete the mainland USA.  So that only leaves us Canada and Mexico. ;D

My guess is if they get to Maine, they will start in eastern Canada and move back west.  It would be cool if another team continued to update the USA map, and maybe if they have the man power, another team working on Mexican states.

They will still need a lot of workers for modelling that dense road network in Eastern states, so I am afraid to think how much time it will take.

They can save time and just make it a giant parking lot.  You have to delivery goods to different parking spots. ;D

That would be shockingly difficult if it's a tight parking lot filled with cars going in and out and pedestrians.  I'd be up for the challenge. ;D

We already have STDS filled with trials like that.
The last SCS's game before THE BIG ONE*, by the way. It would be good to make a re-release of STDS after updating it to 2022 standards ;D, maybe even with introducing the current Scania generation in there.

*Admit, ETS 2008 and all 18WoS games did not gain so much popularity as ETS2.

I really think that STD.....S.... should be implemented into ETS2 and ATS.  There should be a basic driving school to teach new players and hone the skills of veterans.  It seems like they could lift the code, create a new test area, and implement that to both games fairly easily without too much work being spent on it.

A licensing test would be insane if they required you to pass certain tests and skills to handle certain loads, trailer sizes, weights, etc.

But a simple driving school would be a nice addition to the game.  I'm pretty good *pats my own back* but I could always learn new skills or have refreshers.

I legitimately thought this was real for a few seconds.

I mean it is real... but... you know what I mean.

I've never thought of that!  What a clever and good idea! :o  [excited]

First Half-Life and Deus Ex had the good (although really easy, unlike the STDS ;D) training missions. Every great game should have them!

ETS2 and ATS are excellent games.  They need a training mission.

And not the horribly impossible first training mission from the game Driver back on the PS1.  Boy I'm dating myself...

Fifth installment of Need For Speed (aka Porsche Unleashed) also had the «factory driver» missions barely related to the main gameplay ;D.
It’s vital for *TS players to know how to reverse, how to make the turns right etc., but current *TS games imply we already know it.
