Found some earlier posts and predictions.  Everyone was pretty wise with August.  Nice job all. Nice job me.  <<<V>>>

I will say it's possible we might get a late August release. ;D

I think it will come out in August personally, or early September.

So with Montana coming out in August, do we think it is possible they release Texas in 2022?  Or will they release a California rework 2.0 instead?  What is everyone thinking?

I don't think they are as far along in the California rework as they are with Texas.  I think it is very possible Texas comes out in 2022.  It is a shorter window for a release, but I think it is possible.  It would fit in with a Christmas World of Trucks event.

I do not think there will be any map reworks for ETS2 or new map DLC for the game this year.  2022 was a "bad" year for ETS2 content and for it's fans.

After 4th of August we will still have almost five months in this year ;D.
So, I expect to see Texas in late December.

I personally see Texas coming in December.  But I could also totally see them releasing it in early 2023.   It would be nice if they could squeeze two states in a year.  I think many in their minds had hoped Montana or Texas would have been released earlier in the year instead of so far in.

There is a period of time after a release they want to wait for sales too slow.  With only five months between August and December, that might not be a big enough sales window for Montana to slow.

There will not be a California 2.0 rework update this year. That is my guess. Texas will release January 2023. That is my other guess.

Doesn't mean I like my guesses.

Releasing Texas just before Christmas would be smart.  People around the world have a Christmas break which means people can purchase and drive in a new Texas DLC.  That makes marketing sense!

I hate to use the word "bad" but it kind of was.  Not a whole lot to be excited about.  :-\

So what do you guys think happens with ETS2 then?  What, if any, will be new for ETS2 before Christmas?

Nothing. I really think there will be nothing significant.  I think there will be a new truck or some DLC tuner pack, but nothing significant.

Trucks are significant!  ;D  But I get what you mean.

As I said, I do not think there will be any new rework or map DLC.  Austria was the big project for ETS2 this year.  We've and ZERO other teasers about any other things being worked on.  In a stream, a staff member said the next ETS2 rework is probably a year or so away.

It really does seem that ATS has all the momentum and people working on it. I mean, I understand why, it has the most growth potential still.  I just wish more and more people would join in.  It's growth is happening, but it's slowly.

I don't remember when it was, maybe a year ago, but they did say there were more "teams" working on ATS.  Something like 3 for ATS and 1 and a part time team for ETS2.

It's crazy how SCS as a company can thrive off of ONE type of game and have no diversity in their portfolio.  I mean, if the trucking sim category ever tanks, they are doomed as a company.  :(

They'll start making educational games for preschoolers.   [excited]
