That thicc concrete structure was build as WWII submarine bunker. Its demolition has been cancelled because it would require so much explosive so it could be dangerous for nearby buildings :-0.

^ That is a really cool piece of information!  The city looks great.

I don't know if most people here REALIZE how big this DLC is going to be.  The drive moving north is going to be so big, so fast, so empty, it's going to add so much explorable land! It's going to be great.

The much smaller size of two next ETS map DLCs is probably going to be a fuel for some whining from the ungrateful gamers, luckily, the confirmed complete rework of two parts of the original map must sweet the pill for them ;D.
Also, the gameplay videos from the upcoming map expansion say the roads will definitely not be as fast as Spanish or Texan freeways, so we will be able to safely look at the scenery while driving.

I wonder if it's possible to ever have two ETS2 DLCs in a year?  My guess is we will get one next year, plus the rework in progress.  But it would be cool to get two smaller ones too.

For now, I think they continue to follow the usual pattern with rework in April and expansion in November ;D.
Let's see if anything changes after the release of bus DLC.

I just am cautious that a Benelux rework, Buses, and Iceland next year won't be enough to tide over the more finicky ETS2 players . . . especially if ATS gets 3 new DLC's and Road Trip.

SCS just keeps adding content and expectations, which can be a problem long term.  Soon people will expect too much.

At least, the truck department doesn’t promise so much ;D.
Currently, only the updated Mercedes Actros and its new version (with that smooth face) are missing. All three electric trucks don’t seem to be interesting as long the game lacks the charging stations network.
UPD:
So, this is the substitute for a cargo condition for the bus DLC. Notice that the Service Ratings list is shorter than for trucking — no options below Tolerable, also, the number of cities is smaller — actual ETS map has has 331 of them.

I still have never driven an electric truck.  If I can't own it and use it throughout the world, I'm not going to use it.

Also interesting info on the customer satisfaction.  I think a live meter that fluctuates as you drive would be better, but i love reading how they are going about this.  Of course we won't know the individual passenger likes and wishes, but this simulates real life well enough.  I am excited.

They definitely need to improve and have more NPC models.  That is something this game always lacked.

If SCS can start carving out a piece of the coach simulation market, and start excelling in it, they can gather from both fanbases.  Granted, they SCS won't have the depth games like Bus Simulator has. But maybe this more casual approach will be successful.

Right now, Road Trip seems kind of pointless in comparison.

Great article. I like seeing the thought process behind what they are doing here. Nice article and some great info provided.

It does seem like they are thinking of something.  They do mention live feedback in the game.  Maybe we will hear passengers muffled voices or something.  Maybe screams if they are terrified. Lol!

I think that would be excellent for the longevity.  We will see ETS2 player counts explode.  But they definitely won't be as in-depth as other games as you point out.  But I think that more casual market is going to be key.  I think that's a much wider audience to attract.

Right now, Road Trip seems kind of pointless in comparison.

It does sort of seem like it.  If we are just delivering smaller stuff here and there, why not do it in a truck?  Maybe long-haul buses would be good for ATS too.

I wonder if passengers can get sick from bad driving?

Now this is what I call the big DLC ;D.

Almost as big as Iberia, but with more slow and narrow roads (and more interesting scenery), so, we are probably going to spend a lot of time there ;D.
Just one look at this map tells you how important are the ports and seaways for Scandinavian economy.
The cruising event announced today has a goal to drive 0.3 billion km in two months... I think two or three weeks will be enough.
