I remember how the government of one African country decided to rename it from Swaziland to Eswatini to avoid confusion with Switzerland.

They should really rename Niger... a lot of Southern kids have trouble with that one.     :))

^I think that name has a lot of connection with other local toponyms, so it’s too expensive to rename ;D.

Back to the map rework: I don’t know is it exclusive for the new depots or was it already in the game and I just noticed it, but I like how the border stone is no longer needed at this lumber mill, because they have something cooler:

I remember when Swaziland changed its name.  I also remember when South Sudan became the newest country in the world after splitting from Sudan.

The new depots are so good.  I feel we don't give them enough praise.  It is so cool how each one is unique and different.  I am already picking out favs and least favs in my head. ;D  Some I want to go back too!

It’s likely the final blog post before the release ;D.

Among other details added in the Netherlands, there are some small movable bridges you can easily miss if there were no these distinctive warning lights (you will find them a lot in some areas):

Also, since the big part of my recent deliveries were taken from Köln, I was passing this bridge again and again:

It made me LOL when I first saw this scene after 1.50 update and continues to do it now — looks like these two are not happy together ;D.

Wow.  That is pretty good looking photos!  It's reminiscent of like a GTA game. ;D

Is the duck and that guy and ongoing joke I don't know about?

I think there will be at least several references to some noir movies ;D. Or, other medias featuring Chicago.

We’ll see how well the locations from these photos will be drawn in the actual game ;D.
As we have seen in Greece and Norway, now SCS has no problems in making the mountain landscape good enough, even using the game engine from 2002. One thing still standing out too much in the game is when the trees on the distant mountains look too big, so it’s easy to see the difference between the photos and the screenshots. On the other hand, the skyboxes are drawn perfectly.

A literal Easter egg, perhaps...?  A duck one.

^If there will be one ;D.
Although, the truck on the state promo image tells it must be there.
UPD:
OK, the car detailing is great, but the new truck is still the main star today [excited].
Looks like the new Kenworth T680 got a worthy competitor in terms of beauty. I love the shapes and lines of the new truck, both in exterior and interior. The third Volvo VNL we have in the game has a little different set of cabs and chassis than before — now you can choose 4×2 even for 860, but I doubt this combination will be very popular ;D.

I think I will continue to use the shortest chassis only with the daycab . As for other cabs, they finally added the short sleeper version (probably after years of complains and suggestions). Don’t forget to check every interior seat option — no deep red colors available, but I like the dashboard with the light wood trim.
Since it’s a product of 2020s, there is some negative moments like no retarder option for gearbox and lack of 600 HP engines — only 500 for the most powerful one. This is where Kenworth is still ahead ;D.
Also, if anyone cares, we have the electric version of the previous Volvo VNR (the current VNR today only in the diesel version... for now):
Of course, only for the Quick Jobs, the same as with electrucks in ETS. But, this truck has some interesting feature — it has 5492 N·m torque, which is far ahead of any other truck in ATS, and is almost 1.5 times more than 780 HP engine from ETS 8).

I want that Dodge Challenger in every color!

The new VNL looks silly with that 4x2 short chassis.  It looks cursed. ;D
