There's gonna be an announcement this week.  I have this weird feeling...

Looks like Wolfwood's announcement hunch came true.

I can’t say this mix of some other European trucks details look very nice, but these three horns with cameras are really eye-catching:

Dashboard is much more impressive, although non-futuristic, EMP-invulnerable ;D, classic mirror is bigger than a hi-tech camera screen.

The only reaction I can have for a new DAF, is this:
Everything is different, the only thing that remained is a steering wheel shape ;D. So, I love this truck, despite the low amount of options (just like WS 49X at the start) and totally not DAF-like cab.
I wonder what surprise is waiting for us in ATS.

I will take the classic mirrors anytime over digital.  Digital is just one more thing to stop working.

That said, this truck looks good, but not all that different from several other offerings in ETS2 (exterior wise).  It reminds me a lot of the newer Scania in the game, especially the headlights.  It looks good though with the wrap-around windshield and black A-pillars.

Aerobatic cones, which are made from super-weak fabric to prevent plane damage if being hit.

Thanks.  I was looking at maps trying to figure out why that airport is there and what it is supposed to be.  It doesn't seem to exist in real life unless it's supposed to be the North Las Vegas Airport, but even then, it isn't in the right area, not even close.

That is a nice looking truck.  PACCAR owned... so maybe more PACCAR brands will have updates?  Kenworth, Peterbilt?  :D

Digital mirrors... I know some cars already employ digitally enhanced rear view mirrors, but I am not sure why you would want digital side mirrors.  It's just another electronic that can go awry.

In addition, you can change the view angle of a normal mirror just by looking on it from slightly different angle ;D. To change the view angle of a camera, you need to adjust it, every time.
When Mercedes introduced the camera mirrors for Actros, they were not available for hazardous cargo trucks ;D, so even the manufacturer was not so supportive about its own product.

BTW, I see some Youtube reviewers have found a funny thing in new DAF — that chromed thing on its sideskirts looks like a shovel.

Is that a coincidence, or the designers just thought it looks cool? ;D Also, new DAF has no numbers beyond 100 km/h on its speedometer, while most of other models have 120 (but all of them are no match for Mack Anthem with more than 180 ;D) — it fits to a trend of reducing the truck speed in Europe (from 90 to 80 km/h in 2018 for France, for example).
Aaand... in a mission of getting the «Discover all cities in Iberia» achievement I have found another place, which can bring back memories of aforementioned New Vegas: between Sevilla and Cordoba there is a solar tower, pretty similar to Helios One ;D.

I think that skybox will surely reduce its heat output dramatically.
We're on page 69.  8)

I haven't driven the new DAF yet, but I plan too soon.  I want to test out the gimmicky mirrors.

Lower speed limits?  BORING.  ;) Who doesn't love that feeling when they take a corner too fast and you can feel your trailer beginning to flip and you try to correct it, and just happen to tweak it just enough that you save your load from flipping over?!  We all love that!  We feel like champs.

True story... So I did this MASSIVE 1,800 mile load in ETS2 and was just minding my own business.  Then I came toward the end with 15 miles to go.  This part of the map was a old part and had VERY old tight off ramps.  Anyways, I somehow got stuck on a guard rail when turning then I couldn't move.  I was stuck.  I floored it for like 5 minutes to try and loosen myself but I was completely stuck. :P  It was horrible to do all that work and have to quit because somehow my truck go glitched into a guardrail.

I've had similar stuff happen before too.  No issues on the freeway driving across the country, but once I pull out onto the city streets, you get hit by a car or something dumb. Round-a-bouts often will cause me to get damage due to dumb cars turning where they shouldn't.  So I usually just sit and wait till there is no one in the road feature.

So, I am glad to hear we will get more Krone content next year ^-^. Also, you can see another real-life brand name: in addition to JOST fifth wheel, now we have new Celsineo cooling unit, a collaboration of Krone and Liebherr (personally, I see a lot of Liebherr fridges, even in my current and previous offices ;D. Looks like they are really popular).

P.S.

Lol.

Well, this is a scenery we all like to see. ;D I think this expansion pack will be released shortly after the beta test for 1.41 will be completed.

They've really been improving the tree's and the landscapes.  It's very nice to see they are giving such an ignored state so much love.  It deserves it.
