Why did they release a Nordic Horizons trailer so early?  It must be for Gamescom. (That's the reason, duh)

The mountains and scenery look top notch!  Some of the best mountains I've seen.  I guess my only complaint is the lack of snow in much of it, but that's fine.  It's a beautiful part of the world we will get to explore.  I love the new assets and depot working areas they showed off.

That means this DLC is not coming out in a few weeks. ;D

We also got the Nordic retouch of older parts of the map.  1.56 might also come with Rigid Trucks as SCS has teased before. They had said they would like to have them come out around Nordic Horizons.  So that might be before or after.  I assume Nordic Horizons is still planned for late 2025.

Rigid trucks?  Like . . . the trucks were the cab is attached to the trailer/box thing?

Not the content everybody likes ;D, but someone may like more trailers in Schmitz lineup.

I mean yeah, not what many care for, but it's good to see these companies work with SCS.  It shows health in the game.

In addition to Vossloh G6 introduced eight years ago (when the game was really different from what we have now ;D), we finally have new rail vehicles — two smaller ones for the base game, and the bigger one for Special Transport DLC. So, let’s pretend they can’t reach their destination point by rails (OK, we have plenty of countries with different rail gauge size on our map) and prepare our lowboy trailers.
Also, since there are new base game stuff, I would like to see the locomotive cargo in the traffic, along with those yachts and helicopters.

So, again we have a patch with little visible content, but big improvement in the core, like better work with height map (which should make almost every grassy hill in the game look different, as shown on the screenshots) and, probably, the adaptation to consoles. Plus, some changes in the game menus, as usual ;D.
As for the loading animation... it’s cool, but again, for the «cheap» cargoes. The expensive stuff is still transported by the tanks, lowboys and dryvans. However, some flatbed cargoes appeared in previous patches (like scaffolding or moving containers) may be cheaper than the wood chips or scrap metal, putting you in frustration when you have bought your driver the new flatbed hoping they will carry the aircraft engines or big forklifts — the same effect when the driver carries cardboard boxes in a refrigerator .

Thank you for the mini summary.  So with 1.56 releasing SOON, does that mean we can expect another map DLC soon?  Is Nordic Horizon's coming faster than we expect as well?

They still haven't ended the Iowa World of Trucks Event!

Also notice how much more detailed the scrapyard photo looks compared to older scrap years in the game. Impressive.

I doubt it.
I would rather expect to see the Benelux rework. Give us some flat European countries! ;D

Seeing real development improvements is real good to me. I know it's not flashy for most players, but it is changes they are doing now that will improve the longevity of this game for all of us to enjoy.

The new texture blending is an improvement.

Also love we can move our drivers AND THEIR trailer all at once. Life improvement.
