Okay, let's talk Christmas movies!  Go!

One of my favorites has to be National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Alltime fave of mine that is.

Nut the new one that just came out, Spirited, with Will Ferrel and Ryan Reynolds, is a new close second.

Hmmm, let's see:

Love Actually  <3
Little Lord Fauntleroy  xmas^^

Here on German TV, there's one movie that's absolutely a "must-see" every Christmas! The English title is "Three Wishes for Cinderella". It's a Czechoslovak/East German production made in 1973, based on a Bohemian version of the Cinderella fairy tale. It's lovely and magical, and what I especially like about it (as a little girl, and now!) is the fact that Cinderella is a strong and courageous girl, and can handle the bow and arrow more skilfully than the prince.  :D
Here's the trailer with English subtitles:

My classic pic is, "It's a Wonderful Life."  A classic American film from 1946 made in the post-war.  People were recovering after a horrible WWII and this film uplifted spirits beyond imagine.  Certainly a Christmas and film classic.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

It's beginning to look a lot like syphilis...  xmas^^  ...all around your nose.

We used to sing that little ditty on the playground when I was in sixth grade... though admittedly none of us knew what syphilis even was.  Ah, callow youth.   [excited]

Okay, let's talk Christmas movies!  Go!

Well, I've mentioned elsewhere that Christmas movies tend to fall into several categories:  "The Gift of the Magi" plot, the "Christmas Carol" plot, and the "Santa Clause is retiring/incapacitated/missing/dead and they are looking for a successor/stand-in/the lost Clause" plot. There seems to be a new one vying for attention: the "Groundhog Christmas" plot. Someone is caught in a time loop around the holidays, and the only way out of it is to do everything right. I've seen it twice this year already: one with Kelsey Grammer, and one with

Then there's the "body-swap" plot, an old eighties favorite, such as this one about two women from very different walks of life switch lives, not to be confused with the other one about two women from very different walks of life switching lives or the one with the same title about an inveterate gambler who switches place with Santa. By the way, Candace Cameron-Bure has a lot of Christmas films on her resume--not surprising, I guess, when one's older brother is squeaky-clean God-wad Kirk Cameron. Though he should probably advise his little sis not to publicly post pictures showing her husband pinching her tit.    :-]

I saw Violent Night earlier this month. IT was about as crazy as I expected. The plot is Santa Claus is delivering presents but one rich family gets their home taken over by armed thieves while he's there. So now Santa has to take out all these gunmen and save the family so he can get back to his job.

The second new one I saw this year was A Christmas Story Christmas. It's a thirty years later sequel with the same actor who played the kid in the first Christmas Story. His father passed away and now its on Ralphie to make a Christmas just like the ones his old man did.

Third new one this year is Spirited. This movie I'm kind of obsessed with right now, the soundtrack has done that to me. Will Ferrel and Ryan Reynolds in a Christmas Carol parody musical is something I very much needed but didn't know until after I had received it. If any of you have Apple TV+ I strongly suggest you give this movie a watch.
