That makes more sense. But like, if they're in a war zone, wouldn't there be a curfew? Or at least the citizens themselves be afraid to go outside?

At this point, there wasn't any news of the war reaching the Ember Tribe.

They didn't hear this shit getting closer? Looks like the evil overlords liked destroying and causing fires and shit.

It was clear that war was declared by the Eneoji tribe but it was at first declared on the Aero Tribe. And those tribes are a distance away from each other so the Ember Tribe didn't let it bother them that much. Now the Eneoji tibe is expanding its battle to all the tribes and soon after this, all six tribes will be in a civil war with themselves. The Eneoji caused a spark, The rest of the tribes added onto it.

What's the Enoji tribe? Is that Plasma tribe?

But that's interesting. Still don't explain how they didn't hear this shit getting closer, but whatever. I'll try to ignore that point.

1500 years before the Elements of Harmony defeated Nightmare Moon, the country of Alamante was founded by both ponies and zebras. Both races were granted powers of the elements of nature via a stray asteroid that fell off course from the centennial meteor shower. (as seen in Owls well that ends well) The years passed by and the ponies lived out their lives in their respective territories for each elemental trait and power. Each territory has their own culture and style. All of them though worship one of six elemental gods of an ancient pantheon. The fire movers of the Ember Tribe (Pyro's) pray to Agni. The ice movers of the Frost Tribe, (Cryo's) worship Skaldi. The plasma movers Eneoji Tribe (Gem's) pray to Cybelle. The water movers of the Hydro Tribe (Agua's) pray towards Poseidon. The wind movers of the Aero Tribe (Typhoon's) pray to Aeolus. And the earth movers of the Geo Tribe (Terra's) worship Gaia.

The years passed by and the country of Alamante seemed to thrive in peace. However close to the time Luna was nearing her escape from the moon, conflict started to rise. Territorial disputes were minor but the tribal chiefs were starting to get the thought in their minds that they were more powerful than the other tribes and the dominant element of the six deserved to rule not only over their respective tribal land, but ALL of Alamante. And this is when the war truly started. The only hope the country has now is six ponies who were born at separate times but they had two things in common.

One: They were born with their cutie marks already bestowed upon them.
Two: Those marks were the iconic symbols of the elements they reresented.

By having these cutie marks these ponies were destined for something great. But with a war coming, they have to find each other.

Cool backstory.  I'm gonna break it down a bit for more info, since I like discussion.

Is Alamante on the current landmass as Equestria or someplace else?  Would they be effected by Equestria forming in the near future?

Are all six tribes warring at once or was one more aggressive then the others, and another maybe more peaceful? 

Do you have the leaders of these tribes?

Cool backstory, I like it. Only one thing feels unnessary to me and that's the whole being born with their cutie marks already. Like, just seems weird. Wouldn't it just be fine for them to have earned the mark with them doing something really mighty with their element, getting the special specific mark and then other ponies realizing that they're super special and giving them the training and stuff?

I'll answer your question first, River. The idea is similar to Star Wars. When a baby was sensed by other jedi that it had the ability to use the force, the jedi would come for the child and train them right from birth into adulthood.

Alamante is its own country east from Equestria separated by a large ocean. And no Equestria wouldn't be affected by them or vice versa.

All six tribes are at war with each other. The Eneoji tribe is by far the most vicious.

The leaders of the tribes I do have a few of them named.

Chief Niiharu is the brutal ruler of the Eneoji Tribe
Chief Tamaishi (Terra's father) is the ruler of the Geo Tribe.
