I'm looking at the thumbnail and the room looks the same. I haven't watched the video.

But I'm pretty sure he pulls out a mattress looking thing and starts slamming it on the fire. I might be wrong and it might not be the right video.

No, no, System423 is right, he does start using a mattress at some point. It's the right video. XD XD Hilarious. Even worse, it looked more like a pillow, which never would've helped. ;D

What on earth?  I feel bad for the guy, I do.  He lost everything, but batting a fire with cardboard or a flammable pillow will not put out a fire.  I realize he was past the point of getting glasses of water to douse on it, but golly.  Amazing how fast that whole situation got out of hand.

I mean, I feel kinda bad too. I think he eventually got control of the fire. Hopefully.

But yeah, it was really something completely stupid. It is crazy how fast fire can spread.

Like, yeah I feel bad for the dude, but like.... really... it's hard for me to personally feel 100% sympathetic because he's the one that started the damn thing.
In his own house/apartment no less!

Yeah, it's like AFHV. Dunces get themselves into these situations and it's hard to feel completely sympathetic, but yeah at the same time it sucks.

I really hope he managed to put it out.

I heard it was his apartment. Which makes things even MORE worse, as he certainly endangered others' lives. :-\

Oh damn! That's terrible! He could have caused the entire complex to go up in flames.
Aren't apartments supposed to have extinguis- wait. This took place in Japan didn't it? Do they have the same safety codes as we do?

I'd assume they're a bit different than in the US, but like... I feel that it's just common knowledge to not play with fire.

But hey, I dunno how people are taught in different parts of the world.

It was a house that caught on fire.  SOURCE.  It sounds like only the second floor was effected.  He, his elderly mother and father, and an elderly relatively sustained some injuries.

Oh. That's better, then. At least, it wasn't 30 people.

Aaah, that's good. Also Smiles, affected. Not effected ;)

But damn, that's awful. It's a good thing their house didn't burn down, but they must have lost a lot of their valuables. But as long as they're all alive, I suppose that's what matters most.
