Steam for computer gaming... yeah.  There is also one called Origin by EA in Redwood City, California.  Steam is owned by Valve in Bellevue, Washington.  Pretty much right next door to Microsoft.

I use Steam, yeah. Most stuff I play is either a bit old so I can run on this laptop, or an indie game :P

There are some really good indie games.  I recommend playing, "Inside."

Risk of Rain is the shit. So much fun, I recommend that one, too.

Duck Game is hilarious, too. But it's kind of expensive for what it offers, so it's best to get on sale.

A recent single player game called Night in the Woods is also real good. Very pretty style. The dialogue is also really like...you can really relate to it.

"College dropout Mae Borowski returns home to the crumbling former mining town of Possum Springs seeking to resume her aimless former life and reconnect with the friends she left behind. But things aren't the same. Home seems different now and her friends have grown and changed. Leaves are falling and the wind is growing colder. Strange things are happening as the light fades.

And there's something in the woods.

Night in the Woods is an adventure game focused on exploration, story, and character, featuring dozens of characters to meet and lots to do across a lush, vibrant world. After a successful Kickstarter it's being made by Infinite Fall, a teamup of Alec Holowka (Aquaria), Scott Benson (Late Night Work Club), and Bethany Hockenberry."

I'm not a platformer player, but I do like the design of this.  I will probably pick it up when the next sale happens.
