This turned out to be one of the most expensive, highest profile, most hyped special election for a single seat in the House of Representatives in a long time.

Democrats have put up a furious challenge in this red-leaning district, Georgia’s Sixth Congressional, which became vacant when President Trump picked its representative, Tom Price, for his cabinet. A little-known, 30-year-old former congressional aide, Jon Ossoff, electrified Democrats nationwide with his campaign and ended up raising $25 million

As I said, Democrats are using this as a referendum on the Trump Administration... when really it isn't.

It really is not, you are right.  But the media is trying to work it up as if it is.  They did the same thing with Montana, then became eerily quiet when the Democrat lost by a large margin... again.

Polls have closed and votes are being counted in the suburbs north of Atlanta.

With 2% of the vote in, Karen Handel, the Republican, is currently winning over Jon Ossoff, the Democrat.  But yeah, 2% is nothing...

3% in.  Democrats are now in the lead by 40 votes.  So as you can see, it is very close.

The district is increasingly becoming liberal as young people are moving in.  So it might be closer then we think.  Democrats also far outspent the Republicans as usual.  Both are pretty much unknown people, but the Democrat, Ossoff, became more well known because of Dem spending and notoriety.

The outcome of this is definitely not a precursor of next year's elections.

Yeah, it will have jumps in percentages for sure.  As they get to more rural areas of the district, it will be more Conservative.  Inner city areas will be more liberal, but this is mostly a wealthy area that is very successful in business.  So it is more Conservative then all of Atlanta.

Not a fan of the city of Atlanta.  To spread out and dirty.
