Biggest downside of those free streaming services: just be ready for some ad breaks.
I've lived my whole life with ads on tv. Ads don't bug me like it seems to bug the new generation.
Ad don't bother me, at least on traditional cable. You know the ads will appear at the top of the hour. Fifteen minutes in. And ate the bottom of the hour. Streaming the ads pop up whenever they want and while they are shorter, there is more of them.
I don't mind the ad breaks in and of themselves, it's the ad
content that annoys me. Who'd ever have thought that my generation would one day be old enough to be nostalgic for
commercials? Toys, board games, cereals, snacks, water parks, pizza joints,
fast-food restaurants with creepy mascots--we had some pretty darn cool stuff back in the day. And the ads were memorable, even iconic. Most commercials today are forgettable trash--though there are a
few standouts.
I think you have to have grown up in the nineties to truly appreciate this one.
