I really wish the unmarked towns could be MARKED on the map.  Not at a far away distance, but when zooming into the map, their names would appear. Would be cool to have depots at them too.

^Not before the game will get a new engine capable to work with bigger bunch of data. The current map is already huge ;D.

P.S. They could save a bit of paint on one arrow.

Nebraska is looking nice.

Agreed. Thought I don't use mods if I can help it, I am sure there is a mod for this on Steam workshop.

There is a lot going on with the Switzerland and Germany rework.

We also have the California rework.
Spoiler (hover to show)
There is also another rework that has not been announced yet, but I can say it is an early state. This will be revealed soon.

More nice scenery for the state introduced exactly eight years ago! [excited] No precise date when it will be done, so... maybe in 1.50 ;D.

According to the Christmas steam, they said California is done.  It could release now, but they are waiting to do some minor fixes and changes.  I think it will release soon, with Switzerland coming after it. The photos are great.

So in the Feb 2 SCS stream, they revealed the new map for the California rework below. The map is looking excellent by the way Spoiler below.

Spoiler (hover to show)

Say goodbye to Oakdale and hello to Modesto and San Jose.  Oakland looks like it will remain small but it has a bit more drivable space now.  This area is SOOO tight.  Stockton and Modesto are right on the Bay Area at this scale and they have removed the Oakland connection to I-5 instead requiring us to go through 580. Port of Oakland remains. They didn't show anything with San Francisco.  It's shape remains similar, and will probably just have some visual upgrades.  Looks like they stopped just before Bakersfield and Santa Maria.  Fresno's farm land has expanded and is much more blocky. :D  The Inland Empire might actually look like farms this time.  Also new mountain routes and water routes.

That sign. ;D  Lol. I have never seen that.

The map looks great and they added so much in there.  I'm pretty excited.

That new inland empire region looks good from Modesto to Frenso.  More curved roads means it takes longer, which means the world feels bigger.

I want to drive the new coastline. ;D Image 10 shows a  new company I think... Buildmaster?  Is that new? I don't recognize them. Also a new locomotive livery in image 14.
