It's sort of an "explain the Renaissance in 50 words or less" scenario.   Friend,  sister,  mother,  aunt, mentor,  and ambassador... well, that's six for a start.

Mr. Smith feels like he'd be right at home in a Simpsons episode.

The thing is, we never actually see the face of whoever Cherilee is addressing.  Could it be a character we've already seen in the series, perhaps someone now in a new relationship?  Are we being set up for an awkward reunion between Cherilee and her long-lost love?

Ha ha... this is horrible... but like... what if it is something sick and twisted, like her brother or Dad, and we're all feeling bad for her.

 I KNOW, I KNOW, that isn't what it is, but still. ;D 

I do feel bad for her, and her emotion seems raw.  They always do a good job at portraying that and expressing feelings.
