 So I actually Googled that.  I got a site about dragon fruit rather that mythical beasts.  I guess if they had dragon fruit in MLP:FiM, it'd be either a special type of fruit actually consumed by dragons, or an effete dragon who sounds like Paul Lynde.     ::)

I've had dragon fruit before.  If it's what I remember, I think it's kind of stinky.  But it tasted sort of bland with a hint of sweetness.

I know the AT&F creators wanted to make deeper stories way back in the past but their community didn't go for it.  I think this is them sort of having a taste at it.  You can see the increase in detailed backgrounds too.
