Was Monday a holiday? I did notice the garbage trucks ran a day late here...   No, President's Day is next week.  Did the ADTF staff take off a week early?  Maybe they expect us to write our own gag this week...?

They took a week off.  Starting last year, they actually started taking week's off occasionally leaving us to SUFFER without them.  But I get it, it's probably really hard to find time to keep coming up with ideas and making comic's all the time.  They probably have real live's too. Real jobs.

I noticed there is a weed joke too.  When Tree Hugger offers tea, this is slang for mary jane! It fits since it is heavily implied Tree Hugger does this and Fluttershy may have in the past too.

Apparently it is! It's more obscure than "reefer", "pot", or "dope", but it's there.  I usually hear "spill the tea" as a reference to hot gossip, or "dish". ^[1], so I was thrown for a moment.   I'll admit, I wasn't thinking of drugs, myself; I was busy observing more than a few LGB-XYZPDQ+ overtones with these two.  Fluttershy's more than happy to shoo her brother out of the house quick as she can so's she and Tree can sit on the living-room sofa and fool around for a while.

Except the one in the center of the bottom shelf, oddly.  Maybe it's not a real book, but one of those that you yank to reveal a secret passageway behind the shelves...?  As a Scooby-Doo alum from years back, I'm very familiar with secret-lever dummy books....

I laugh looking at the book names.  You can tell when they ran out of ideas and didn't care anymore.  They actually wrote that, lol!

This is when it helps to be a voracious reader.  I have shelves' worth of books to look at when I wish to glean inspiration... either real titles or parodies (e.g. Eben Prince's "Firefarter", "The Fartknockers", and "The Girl Who Loved Gordon Lightfoot").  I guess it's time for someone with really good eyes and a lot of time to kill to break down some of these fake book names in a list. I see, among the offerings, "Thicc Book", "Mare Love", "Touch My Dock!", "Squeeze It Out", "Blankets", one with Chinese (?) kanji, and "Expected..." Can't quite make out that last word.  I thought it might be "Poops", but why would Twi own a guide to potty-training?

Yeah, those book names are hilarious.  Pinenut is being cute though, I love it. Poor lil' guy just wants to be loved.
