Welp, here's the last of the A Minecraft Movie trailers. I'm starting to really lose hope that the Ender Dragon won't be in the movie...

These designs do not translate to the movie.  I would have gone full on animated and mimicked the style of the show.  Not try to uber-realize them in some weird cartoon-realistic form.

I saw an ad for a new WB animated cartoon.  It looks 2d and features Daffy Duck.  Doesn't look compelling though.

Yeah, it doesn't look like a good story, at least not one that will attract any audience.  Not a good movie name.  Not sure how this actually got passed to make.  But the animation is great.  When this movie absolutely flops, watch Hollywood again say that 2D movies can't work.  That is not the case.  WB just chose the most unappealing story possible to make a 2D movie.

So it's part of the Looney Tunes Cartoons series, as I can see from Daffy and Porky's animation style, though Petunia looks to be much less goofy and maladroit here and a lot more serious.  Despite it being a story about aliens attacking Earth , Marvin the Martian doesn't seem to be anywhere in sight--indeed, I don't see any of the other classic characters, not even in quick cameos. I say they should have just spent the budget for this on another season of LTC--frankly, I thought the pig and the duck were a tad overused, and would have like to see more obscure and forgotten old characters from the Termite Terrace stable...

...por ejempo.

While this early version is commonly referred to as "Happy Rabbit"...Several published first person accounts, encyclopedic references, and...A model sheet by Charlie Thorson describes this prototype character as "Bug's Bunny" (note the apostrophe) but in most of the cartoons the character is unnamed.  [1]

Oh, and how could I forget two of Bugs' first co-stars, The Two Curious Pups?
I'd like to see them brought back for one more cartoon.  It's been...oh, gosh, 84 years since their last picture together.  :-0

They didn't promote this film at all. I wonder if it is any good?  I am sure it will be a box office bomb due to no marketing.

No matter how good it may be, it's going to be a box office flop unfortunately.  Then they will just blame it on it being 2D animation, but that isn't the case.  It's a shame no company is giving 2D animation it's fair shake.  Why did they invest in making this film only to skimp out of advertising?

The film is reviewing very well but is bombing so far.  It had a $15 million budget, which is cheap in the movie world.

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 86% of 80 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.2/10. Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "B+" on an A+ to F scale, while those surveyed by PostTrak gave it an 89% overall positive score, with 72% saying they would "definitely recommend" it.

Peter Debruge of Variety praised the film for its comedy and emotional core, and felt that the entire project was "crafted with love and a genuine respect for the franchise". Rafael Motomayor of IGN awarded the film a 9 out of 10 star rating. He praised its comedy, emotional core, animation, and Bauza's voice performances, and referred to it as "one of the funniest movies of the year".

The beauty of the Looney Tunes characters is that they're so ubiquitous they can be used in pretty much any genre--Porky Pig himself, in his career, has been everything from Mr. Moto to the Eager Young Space Cadet to a grizzled Old West sidekick.  Pete Browngardt (Uncle Grandpa) toyed with a lot of ideas for his movie, but finally went with the classic science-fiction B-movie. He and his crew, to their credit, studied hours of cheapo black-and-white '50s schlock, like Invasion of the Saucer MenInvasion of the Body Snatchers, The Day the Earth Stood Still, in preparation--I do admire the dedication to their craft.

So if the numbers are good enough on this, could we be seeing another LTC movie project coming next year? If well-done, sure, I'd welcome something with Bugs Bunny, or Sylvester and Tweety, as its stars. I just hope they don't rush some piece of crap into production--the world doesn't need another stinker like Tom and Jerry and the Chocolate Factory.

I highly doubt we will see another theatrical film.  This movie is bombing.  I mean prior to this film, it was a long time since we saw another Looney Tunes film, which was that Space Jam reboot, which also bombed.

They do have a new-ish animated cartoon series out right now, I think on some streaming service, but I don't know how it's doing. It seems like the Looney Tunes property has been dead for quite awhile.  They occasionally bring it out and make series, but i don't know how many people actually enjoy and watch them.  It seems outdated.  I think the most relevant they've been was when the Looney Tunes Show came out and unceremoniously ended.  It tried to do something different, especially with the characters, and I think it was a step in the right direction to make the characters relevant... but at the point of changing them they did, why not just create a unique and new IP?

Hmmm.
