And our last update on Hoppers. As of 8 March 2026, Hoppers grossed $46 million in the United States and Canada and $42 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $88 million. It will easily reach its budget of $150 million.
"Hoppers' comedic tone and colorful animation are a smokescreen featuring a narrative that undermines personal accountability, devalues human relationships, normalizes self-destructive zealotry, and desensitizes viewers to violence. This isn’t even a joke. Hoppers is bad for kids." Source
As of June 4, 2026, Hoppers has grossed $166 million in the United States and Canada and $221 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $387 million. The film was hoped to reverse Pixar's low opening streak for its originals, overtaking the lukewarm openings of Elemental (2023), and Elio (2025), which became a box-office failure. Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 73 out of 100, based on 46 critics, indicating "generally favorable and mixed" reviews. In March 2026, during an interview with Espinof, a Spanish film website, Daniel Chong expressed interest in a potential sequel if the film is successful, saying "I love the idea of a sequel".

PREMISE: "Nero, a black cat living in Venice, begins to question whether he was living the right lives." Wait, isn't that the premise of the fairly obscure Filmation cartoon Fraidy Cat? Well, it doesn't say his past lives are trying to kill him, it's just he's looking back on them with regret?... 'Kay. I do like the voice of the big grey tom... quite evocative of the late Tony Jay.

Toy Story 5 reviews are coming in... Toy Story 5 received positive reviews from critics, with praise for its visuals, voice performances, humor and themes, while criticism was directed at its script and message. Opinions were divided on whether the film justified its existence, with some critics arguing the franchise "felt exhausted". On review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, Toy Story 5 has an approval rating of 94% based on 176 reviews, with an average rating of 7.8/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "Proving that old toys can learn new tricks while reckoning with an era of endless screen time, Toy Story 5 largely sidesteps franchise fatigue by reaffirming that children everywhere still got a friend in these lovable characters." Metacritic, another review aggregator which assigns a normalized rating to reviews, gave the film a score of 73 out of 100 based on 43 critics. Definitely will keep paying to attention to see how it changes. Still extremely early.
